This is an honest advice to every teacher out there.

When you’re asked, What can you teach? or What level can you handle? please resist the urge to say I can teach everything.

It might sound impressive, but in reality, it works against you.

The truth is, no teacher can effectively teach all subjects across all levels. And when you present yourself that way, it raises questions about your depth, your mastery, and your focus.

From my experience recruiting tutors, the moment a teacher says they can handle all subjects, it already reduces their chances. And when I go through a CV and see multiple unrelated subjects listed, it becomes even more difficult to take that application seriously.

This is not to discourage you, but to guide you. Find your strength. Identify the subject you are truly good at. Build confidence and mastery in that area.

Let people know you for something specific and be excellent at it.

That is what will make you stand out. That is what will open more opportunities for you.

Focus brings growth. Specialization brings recognition.
