Good morning and happy new week 🫶

I witnessed something one day that really stayed in my mind…

There was this lady who came into a place looking happy and confident.

Nothing dramatic. Just minding her business.

But as she passed, some people started whispering about her outfit.
Small comments. Side eyes. Little laughs.

And I noticed something…

The way her face changed slowly.

You could literally see her confidence disappear in real time.

That moment made me think deeply:

Why do people make others feel ashamed for what they wear?

Not everybody dresses the same.
Not everybody is comfortable in the same things.
And honestly, confidence looks different on different people.

If someone is decent and comfortable in what they’re wearing, why should embarrassment enter it?

Whether it’s a lady or a man, I feel nobody deserves to be mocked just because of clothes.

Because words stay with people longer than we think.

You may laugh and move on…
but that person might go home overthinking themselves all night.

Since that day, I’ve tried to be more careful with how I talk about people.

Because kindness costs absolutely nothing.

Be honest… do you think people judge others too much because of appearance? 👇🤍

One thing about African families ehn… embarrassment is part of the bonding 😭😂

Years ago, my mom sent all of us to bed early because we had somewhere important to go the next morning.

Everybody was pretending to sleep peacefully…

Not knowing one of my siblings secretly carried food to the room to eat at night 😭

Everything was going well until we just heard:

“GBAMMMM!” 💔😂

This person mistakenly dropped the plate in the middle of the night.

The silence after that sound ehn… terrifying 😭

Everybody instantly woke up, including my mom from the other room:

“WHAT WAS THAT??”

And because fear entered, nobody even answered immediately 😂

That night turned into investigation panel.

Till today, anytime someone says they’re “not hungry,” we remember that midnight food mission 😭😂

Family memories are really built from nonsense sometimes.

At this point… no insult can pain me again 😭

When you deal with customers every day, you hear everything.

The polite ones…
The not-so-polite ones…
And the ones that will just wake up and choose violence for no reason 😂

At first, it used to get to me.
I’ll be thinking about it after work like, “why would someone talk like that?”

But now?

I’ve heard so much that my mind just built automatic defense 😅

You’ll be talking, shouting, complaining…
and I’m just there like “okay, how can I help you?”

Because at the end of the day,
if you carry everything to heart, you won’t survive this job.

So yeah… growth is when you can hear all sorts and still stay calm.
