Planting the Apple Tree and Cherry Tree with the kids of Great Rock School at Shasha Lagos. It was fun engaging the kids on hand to hand practical on how to plant.

Teaching children to plant trees is indeed a great way forward, as it fosters environmental responsibility, provides a hands-on science lesson, and offers life skills like patience.

The Humane Global Network- USA and Nigeria is planting trees in schools across Nigeria to ensure food security and livelihoods. The students enjoyed coloring pages from the Trees That Feed Foundation. Kindly support this great initiative to reach more schools.

I am Chiemeka Chiedozie, founder of Humane Global Network and Chi Empathy Towards Animals Organization. The following is my story as a young child. I would walk to school every day without breakfast. During lunch time when the other children were eating, I sat alone in the classroom because I had no lunch.Walking home from school, sweating in the sun, I felt like I would faint.

In order to support my family for food, I would hawk - sell in the street. I did this street hawking for years until I was 19 years old.

Today, we still have a lot of kids in Nigeria who go to school without food and they are suffering from malnutrition. I feel as an organization that embarking on such a project will be of great benefit to the kids, schools and the society. We look forward for support and donations from individuals, non profits, and international institutions to advance the benefits of plant based food and farming systems.

We have a link to over 200 schools in Lagos and we can reach them with this concept of growing food on their own. We would like to ensure that every school has a greenhouse to ensure food security of the children...

What is Africa Animal Welfare Conference (AAWC)

It is an annual conference co-hosted by Africa Network for Animal Welfare (ANAW) in collaboration with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), African Union InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) and the Government of the Country on Which the Conference is held, for professionals and practitioners, coming together to discuss issues that cut across animal welfare, wildlife and environmental conservation.
