WordPress + Elementor in 2026: The Truth Nobody Tells Beginners.
WordPress is the present. It might not be the future; AI is moving fast, and nobody knows what web development will look like in five years. But right now, in 2026? There is no reason to sleep on it.
WordPress powers over 43% of the internet. Not because it's trendy, but because it works:
- Free and open-source
- SEO-friendly out of the box
- Massive library of plugins and themes
- Now integrating AI to stay ahead
Despite newer competitors, WordPress keeps growing. We've seen it firsthand.
The biggest lie about WordPress
People say it's just a rigid drag-and-drop builder that locks you into their themes. We've built custom interfaces and custom plugins, including a raffle draw system built entirely inside WordPress, seamlessly. It's going public soon.
The truth? You can build anything on it. You can write code inside it. Elementor makes this even more powerful:
- Advanced design flexibility
- Lightweight performance
- Support for multiple programming languages
- Custom code blocks when you need full control
What about security?
A beginner on WordPress is actually safer than a beginner writing custom code from scratch. Millions of users mean bugs are caught and fixed faster than in any private system. It's safest in experienced hands, which is exactly where we come in.
Our advice if you're starting out:
- Don't depend on pre-built plugins and themes in 2026; design yourself
- Go to Pinterest, find ideas, implement them
- If a plugin doesn't exist for what you need, build it
- Learn UI/UX basics so you're not average
- Learn Elementor deeply and get Elementor Pro
- Learn to code; use AI as your assistant
A WordPress developer is not less than a custom code developer. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
The world is moving fast. Move at its pace.
At Optimal Digitals, we build fast, conversion-ready WordPress websites for businesses ready to grow. Want one built the right way?

This is the first step to turning off the dry season in your business.
Do exactly this, and your business will be turned around within 37 days.
EPISODE 1/8 — Audit Your Online Presence
Before any business grows, clarity must come first. Clarity about what customers see when they search for you online.
This is one of the fastest ways to understand why people buy from you… or why they don't.
Here's how to do a simple audit that can expose hidden opportunities today:
1. Google your business name exactly as customers would search it.
Open an incognito window and type in your business name, location, or service. This shows you what a first-time customer actually sees.
2. Look at the first page results.
Scan through your website, social profiles, reviews, images, and comments. Check Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or anywhere else your business appears.
3. Ask yourself:
• Is the information accurate?
• Is my branding consistent?
• Does this page make someone trust me enough to buy?
• Is there a clear way for a customer to contact me?
4. Write down everything that looks outdated, unclear, missing, or unprofessional.
5. Create a "Fix List." Things you can update immediately (profile picture, description, website link, business hours, reviews).
Most customers decide in under 5 seconds whether to trust you. If the internet version of your business looks confusing or incomplete, they quietly move on to your competitors.
A clean audit gives you control over your reputation and positions you for more sales.

Over 5 billion people use social media every single day, and most spend over 2 hours scrolling through content.
The truth is, they’re there to consume content.
So, the real question is, "Is your business part of what they’re consuming?"
Social media is one of the most powerful tools you can use to promote your business, product, or service if you use it the right way.
If you’re a service provider, don’t just consume content; become the content.
• Talk about your processes.
• Share the problems your product or service solves and how it solves them.
• Tell us why we need you and why we need you now.
For example, if you’re a skincare expert, educate us:
Instead of just telling us to buy your skincare products, tell us how we damage our skin daily and how we can do better and fix it.
When those free, actionable tips work, people will start to see you as an expert and then trust you.
And once you’ve earned their trust, promoting your products becomes easier, because you’ve already proven yourself valuable.
People don’t buy immediately from a post; they buy from trust.
You see? Don’t just post your business and leave.
• Tell your stories.
• Show your journey.
This is how you sell yourself without actually forcing it.
We need to believe in you before we believe in what you sell.
And the best part? AI has made this easier than ever.
• Use ChatGPT or Claude to write your ideas clearly.
• Use Gemini to generate images and content ideas.
• Use Invideo AI and other AI tools to create videos and communicate your message creatively.
Take professional pictures of yourself and your products.
Show us the process behind what you do.
Be consistent. Over time, the results will speak for themselves.
Also, run ads. Even ₦2,000 can reach hundreds of people daily. Learn how to run ads or consult a professional to help you.
Business is a game of numbers: the more people who see your product, the higher your chances of selling.
And finally, get a website.
Social media alone isn’t enough.
Your website is your 24/7 showroom, the place where your potential customers can learn everything about you and what you offer in just a few clicks.
It builds credibility and trust, and these are the two things money can’t buy.
As a web designer, I prioritize website speed because a fast keeps visitors engaged, improves conversions, and boosts SEO rankings. Slow websites lose traffic and sales.
Site speed drives better user experience and SEO.
Solutions start with reducing JavaScript to eliminate bloat and accelerate load times, especially on mobile.
Cutting unused scripts and deferring non-essential tasks keeps code efficient.
Limiting web fonts tackles performance lags from excessive style requests. Using two font families or system fonts ensures fast rendering.
Optimizing images cuts load times further by compressing files, adopting WebP, and serving responsive sizes.
𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚:
1. Audit JavaScript with Lighthouse, remove redundancies, and test on mobile.
2. Consolidate font styles in CSS and prioritize system fonts for speed.
3. Compress images with tools like TinyPNG, convert to WebP, and add lazy loading.
These changes deliver lightweight, streamlined sites that users enjoy and search engines favor.
P.S.
If you want your website faster, send us a DM for free tips on how to get that done. I can also assist you in doing it if you want

A client of mine wanted a website, but he didn’t have a prior design, mock-up, or template for me to reference.
All he had was an idea, which he communicated via text: "Make it good, aesthetically pleasing, yet minimal."
He gave me the web copy (write-up) and moved on.
I generated the images, crafted the layouts, and got everything else done.
He was blown away. He said it felt like I had entered his heart and pulled the idea out.
By the way, this is the PR Service page: 😄

It’s amazing how the simplest things can be the wow factor for clients. Sometimes, something as basic as a flip box can make them want to do more with you.
Next time you build, experiment with whatever your imagination tells you. You never know what .might sweep them off their feet. 🙂
P.S.
If you need a website that brings your ideas to life—whether you have a clear vision or just a rough idea—send me a message.
I’ll execute exactly what’s in your thoughts. 😎

I jumped into full-time freelancing too soon. The funds I should’ve used to grow my career? I spent them just to survive. I couldn’t learn as deeply as I needed to because I was racing to make ends meet. I stayed on the ground too long.
𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲:
Get a job first, then ease into full-time freelancing. It gives you breathing room to survive and learn at your own pace—no pressure.
Someone asked me: “𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘢 9-5 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩? 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘯𝘰-𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥? 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦?”

I got a job. When I moved to Lagos in 2022, I started with a ₦60k salary, later ₦70k. I worked days and pursued tech at night—weekends, holidays, off days, all for my career. I kept going until my tech income surpassed my salary. Then I resigned.
If I could do it over, I’d aim for a better-paying job (maybe tech-related) and build my tech career alongside it. I jumped to freelancing when I was making an extra $100+ monthly—too early. I should’ve climbed higher financially before leaving the 9-5.
𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝:
You can settle if you want—tech isn’t the only way out of the trenches. But it’s a sure way to leave and stay out. If you’re in tech, don’t stop until you get it right.
What do you think? Do you believe in balancing a 9-5 with freelancing, or do you prefer going all in? Let’s discuss in the comments 👇🏾
