Omah Lay, whose real name is Stanley Omah Didia, was born on May 19, 1997, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He grew up in a musically inclined family, as his grandfather was a percussionist for the legendary Highlife musician Celestine Ukwu. This early exposure to music likely influenced his passion for the art.

He spent his childhood in Port Harcourt, where he was exposed to the vibrant music culture of the city. Omah Lay began his musical journey as a rapper under the stage name "Lil King" before transitioning to music production and later to singing. His upbringing in Port Harcourt shaped his unique Afro-fusion sound, blending elements of Afrobeat, Highlife, and modern R&B.
