Southwark Park turned into exactly what q***r nightlife has always deserved: loud, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore.

Body Movements isn’t asking for a seat at the table. It built its own dancefloor.

Three years in, and Our Group Therapy still finds ways to outdo itself.

Two rooms, a crowd that outgrew the Queens Park Event Center before the night even peaked, and an energy that never let up. Every selector was intentional. Every set fed into the next like one long story, not two separate parties.

And somehow, even at that size, it still felt safe. That’s the part that’s hard to hold onto once something gets this big and they held onto it anyway.

Some artists play a set. Wizkid closes an argument.

Wizkid closed out Afro Plus Fest in front of an overflow crowd of thousands in Landover 🦅 and it was one of the most memorable moments in music history.

15 years later the game is still under his belt.

However, this isn’t a conflict between genres. In reality, the data points to a mutually beneficial relationship in that, outside of EDM, Afrobeats continues to be the top streamed genre among Nigerian EDM enthusiasts. On the dance floor, where genre-fluid sets skillfully combine Afro rhythms with electronic sound, this relationship is evident, all thanks to EDM DJs who remix Afrobeats which then makes Afrobeats last longer and mean more to listeners, albeit making said listeners want to go back to the remixed songs. A cursory look at recent EDM projects shows how.
