Building Confident Researchers: Highlights from the Psycho-Wizard Africa's Project Writing Masterclass at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

On Friday, 16th of January, our Delectable Founder had the privilege of facilitating the Project Writing Masterclass, held physically at the Department of Psychology, University of Lagos.

The session was designed primarily for Psychology finalists, while also welcoming other psychology students and research enthusiasts who are passionate about strengthening their research and academic writing skills.

During the masterclass, we explored practical and simplified approaches to project writing, covering how to work independently using credible sources, develop strong research topics, structure academic work clearly, and manage time effectively while reducing stress and common errors associated with final year projects.

It was truly rewarding to engage with enthusiastic students who asked thoughtful questions, shared their concerns, and showed genuine interest in producing high-quality research work they could confidently stand by.

Psycho-Wizard Africa is grateful to the Nigerian Association of Psychology Students (NAPS), UNILAG, for the opportunity to contribute to the academic growth of students, and to everyone who attended and made the session impactful.

At Psycho-Wizard Africa, we remain committed to bridging gaps in psychology education and empowering students with practical knowledge that extends beyond the classroom.

More Than Sponsorship: Building the Next Generation of Psychologists

On the 15th of January, 2026, assigned her delectable Founder, Onafuye Wisdom Adebowale, who stood before a hall filled with fresh faces, Psychology students just beginning their academic journey at the University of Lagos. Psycho-Wizard wasn't present merely as sponsors or guest speakers; we were there as a platform created by someone who once stood exactly where they stood.

Our participation as one of the major sponsors of the Freshers’ Orientation was intentional and deeply aligned with our mission. At Psycho-Wizard, we understand the uncertainty that often accompanies the early days of studying psychology, the self-doubt, the questions, and the quiet fear of “Did I make the right choice?”

So we chose honesty over hype.

Through Psycho-Wizard Africa, we provided resourceful academic materials to Psychology freshers completely free of charge, materials designed to support them from 100 level to final year. Some of these resources are usually paid, others freely available on our website (www.psychowizard.com.ng), but that day, Psycho-Wizard made one thing clear: access to guidance should never be a barrier to growth.

We encouraged students to key into Psycho-Wizard Africa’s vision and mission because with the right tools, community, and mentorship, the journey through psychology doesn’t have to be confusing, overwhelming, or lonely. Psychology is demanding, but it should never feel isolating.

Moments like these reaffirm why Psycho-Wizard Africa exists: to bridge the gap between psychological education and real-world impact, and to meet students exactly where they are, from their very first year.

We’re grateful to and , University of Lagos, for the opportunity to invest in these young minds. If even one student left that hall believing more in themselves and their chosen path, then every effort was worth it.

This is only the beginning!

🚨 The Coca-Cola Courtroom Battle: Part 2 – Psychology Meets the Marketplace 🧠🛒

After the groundbreaking Coca-Cola trial, Harry Hollingworth’s work didn’t just fade into history—it sparked a revolution. For the first time, psychological methods were used to assess real-world issues like consumer choice, attention, and even emotional responses to products. Hollingworth went on to pioneer techniques in advertising psychology, using controlled experiments to determine which ads captured attention, influenced recall, and motivated purchases.

This courtroom drama evolved into a catalyst for applied psychology in business, showing companies that consumer decisions weren’t just random—they were deeply psychological. From color choices in packaging to the rhythm of jingles, psychology now plays a major role in how products are designed, marketed, and sold.

More than a century later, we see this legacy in action. Ever wondered why fast-food menus use red and yellow? Or why supermarkets place essentials at the back? That’s consumer psychology in motion—shaping your experience, often without you even noticing.

🧠 So, the next time you reach for your favorite brand, ask yourself: Is it truly my choice, or is my mind being subtly guided?

🚨 The Coca-Cola Courtroom Battle: A Turning Point for Consumer Psychology 🧠⚖️

In 1909, Coca-Cola found itself in a legal battle when the U.S. government seized one of its syrup shipments, accusing the company of selling a drink with harmful levels of caffeine. As Coca-Cola scrambled for scientific evidence, they turned to psychologist Harry Hollingworth to study caffeine’s effects on human behavior. His rigorous experiments not only helped Coca-Cola win its trial but also marked a significant moment in the evolution of Consumer Psychology—proving that psychological research could shape marketing, advertising, and consumer protection.

This case laid the foundation for applying psychology to consumer behavior, influencing everything from product testing to advertising strategies. It also raised early ethical concerns about marketing and the power of persuasion.
