Oyo Government Demolishes Building Used as Kidnappers’ Hideout in Adelabu Family Abduction

The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow located in the Lako Community, Aiyegun- Anaye road area of Ibadan, which was allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers involved in the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her children.

The demolition exercise was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who visited the scene as part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.

The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted at Elewura, Challenge area of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The state government said the action underscores its commitment to combating insecurity and dismantling criminal networks operating within Oyo State.

We categorically state that the report is false, misleading, and does not represent the position of Ambassador Dare Bejide, the ADC, or the overwhelming majority of our supporters across Ekiti State.

At no time did Ambassador Dare Bejide withdraw from the governorship race, step down for any candidate, or authorize anyone to negotiate, announce, or imply any endorsement on his behalf. He remains firmly in the race and fully committed to offering Ekiti people a credible alternative ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

For the avoidance of doubt, Ambassador Bejide enjoys substantial grassroots support built over years of political engagement, community service, and direct interaction with the people. His support base is organic, widespread, and visible across the sixteen Local Government Areas, wards, and polling units of Ekiti State.

Unlike campaigns that rely heavily on mobilizing the same groups of supporters from one location to another for political events, the ADC’s growing acceptance is rooted in genuine local participation and community-driven support structures established throughout the state.

The ADC remains one of the most organized political platforms in Ekiti today, with active structures in all Local Government Areas, wards, and polling units. Our members and supporters remain focused, united, and fully prepared for the task ahead.

We therefore urge members of the public to disregard any publication suggesting that Ambassador Dare Bejide has stepped down or endorsed another candidate. Such claims are entirely unfounded and should be treated as political misinformation intended to create confusion among voters.

The ADC campaign remains strong, focused, and committed to presenting Ambassador Dare Bejide’s vision for a more prosperous, transparent, and people-oriented Ekiti State.

As June 20, 2026 approaches, our message remains clear: Ambassador Dare Bejide is in the race, the ADC is fully on the ballot, and our structures across all Local Government Areas, wards, and polling units are mobilized and ready for victory.
