BASIC ADMISSION TIPS

Several schools have started releasing their admission lists already and some others will be releasing theirs soon.

TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. It is compulsory that you upload your O level results to JAMB CAPS. Failure to do this will automatically rule out your chances of gaining admission. All admission is processed via JAMB CAPS. Applications of candidates whose O level results are not on JAMB CAPS will not be processed.

2. If you have been offered provisional admission into any institution, it is COMPULSORY that you accept the admission on your JAMB CAPS portal. Failure to do this within 2 weeks may lead to the forfeiture of such admission depending on the school. There was large number of such cases last year.

3. Once you have accepted your admission offer on JAMB CAPS, you will have the access to pay for and print your Jamb Admission Letter. This too is non-negotiable. It is the major proof of your admission.

FUOYE AGGREGATE SCORE CALCULATION

The Aggregate Score is an average combination of different results of a candidate's which is used to determine the level of his/her qualification to be considered for admission.

For Fuoye, the Aggregate Score is calculated as a total of 100% using;
1. JAMB SCORE (60%)
This is done by dividing your jamb score by 400 and multiply the result by 60
2. O LEVEL RESULT GRADE (30%)
Only five (5) subjects relevant to your course are considered. Points are allotted to each subject grade as follows;
A1 - 6
B2 - 5
B3 - 4
C4 - 3
C5 - 2
C6 - 1
Thus, a combination of the score of your grades will be calculated.
3. NUMBER OF SITTING (10%)
A total of 10 points is awarded to those who apply using one sitting. Those who are using 2 sittings do not enjoy this benefit.

EXAMPLE: Elizabeth scored 217 in her Jamb and she had the following grades in her five (5) relevant O level subjects in ONE sitting - B3, A1, B3, B2 and C4. So, what will be her Aggregate Score?

JAMB:
(217/400) x 60
Thats equal to = 32.55

O LEVEL:
B3 - 4
A1 - 6
B3 - 4
B2 - 5
C4 - 3
That's equal to = 22

NUMBER OF SITTING: One sitting
That's = 10

TOTAL AGGREGATE SCORE
32.55 + 22 +10
TOTAL = 64.55
