There is currently no credible evidence to support the assertion that the individuals depicted in this photograph are “American/Israeli-trained ISIS-style terrorists sent to destabilize Nigeria.” This claim remains unverified and is likely to be misinformation.
Recent violent incidents in Plateau State, particularly in the Jos area, are indeed occurring. For instance, a recent attack resulted in multiple fatalities and prompted the imposition of a curfew; however, no group has officially claimed responsibility for these acts.
Typically, reports and security analyses attribute such attacks to:
- Local armed groups or criminal gangs
- Ethnic and land conflicts (e.g., tensions between farmers and herders)
- Occasionally, cult groups or bandits
The individuals in the image—two men holding rifles in a dry outdoor setting—are clad in tactical-style gear, which is commonplace worldwide among military personnel, private security, or even in staged media content. Importantly, there are no identifiable insignia that link them to ISIS, Nigeria, or any specific organization.
Images of this nature are often:
- Taken out of context
- Reused from other countries
- Staged for social media purposes
Reasons for skepticism regarding the claim include:
- The narrative tends to blame foreign actors without substantiation.
- It connects to religious tensions (Christian vs. Muslim), aiming to provoke an emotional response.
- It employs buzzwords like “ISIS-style” without definitive proof.
- It circulates through social media rather than through verified news outlets.
In conclusion, there is no verified connection between this image and terrorist activities in Jos, nor is there any evidence to support claims of American or Israeli involvement. The post is more than likely false or misleading.
Furthermore, this image is not referenced in:
- Nigerian news coverage
- Conflict reporting databases
- Intelligence or security briefings
Such omissions constitute a significant red flag if claims assert it is related to Plateau/Jos.
There is a strong likelihood that this image is staged or taken for recreational purposes. The posture, framing, and gear of the individuals are characteristic of:
- Airsoft players
- Private tactical training sessions
- Social media posts depicting a “tactical lifestyle”
These images are frequently shared on platforms like Instagram or stock photo websites.
This image aligns with a recognized pattern of misinformation, characterized by:
- A real or staged tactical photograph
- Removal from its original context
- Re-captioning with geopolitical assertions
Similar instances of misuse have been debunked previously—for example, viral images of fi****ms that were later confirmed to be AI-generated or miscaptioned.

Prominent news organizations are disseminating reports regarding the demise of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Esteemed international media outlets, in conjunction with Iranian state broadcasters and government sources, have corroborated that Khamenei has passed away due to a coordinated military operation executed by the United States and Israel targeting Iran. Iranian authorities have instituted an official period of mourning.
President Donald Trump, along with high-ranking officials from both the United States and Israel, has publicly acknowledged that the military strikes culminated in Khamenei's death.
Although early reports were marred by conflicting narratives, with certain Iranian officials, including the foreign minister, asserting that Khamenei was "alive as far as I know," the preponderance of evidence now validates his death, as confirmed by Iranian state media and multiple international news agencies.

Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries! I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was. The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing. Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper. May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.

Guinea-Bissau is entering a new political era, with Army General Horta N'Tam being sworn in as transitional president after what seems to have been a coup. The military's choice to delay the announcement of election results has raised accusations from civil society that the outgoing president tried to orchestrate a "simulated coup" to block unfavorable outcomes. Consequently, the country has declared a year-long transition, compounding the existing uncertainty in a nation that has faced nine coups or coup attempts since 1974.

A faction of military officers has seized power in Guinea-Bissau, reportedly arresting President Umaro Sissoco Embaló amid gunfire in the capital, Bissau. The officers declared on state television that they had halted the electoral process, coinciding with the anticipated results of a presidential election held on Sunday. They accused unnamed politicians, allegedly supported by a notorious drug trafficker, of plotting to destabilize the country. As part of their takeover, they instituted a nighttime curfew and closed the nation's borders.
Guinea-Bissau, located between Senegal and Guinea, has a history of coups and is notorious for drug trafficking problems. Both Embaló and his opponent, Fernando Dias, had declared victory in the election, with results expected shortly. After the coup, government sources reported that Dias, former Prime Minister Domingos Pereira (who had been disqualified), and Interior Minister Botché Candé were also arrested.
Furthermore, the army's chief and his deputy were detained. International election observer groups, such as the African Union and Ecowas, voiced serious concerns regarding the coup, noting that the electoral process had been conducted smoothly and peacefully, and that both presidential candidates had expressed a readiness to accept the election results.
Witnesses in Bissau reported gunfire around 1:00 PM GMT, but it was uncertain who was involved or if there were any injuries. Many individuals sought shelter, according to AFP. Subsequently, General Denis N'Canha declared a military takeover, announcing the establishment of "the High Military Command for the Restoration of Order" and urged the public to remain calm.
Checkpoints were established in Bissau, and the streets cleared in anticipation of a curfew set to begin at 7:00 PM GMT. Portugal called for a restoration of constitutional order, urging all groups to refrain from violence. Over the last 50 years, Guinea-Bissau has experienced at least nine coups or attempted coups.
President Embaló, who sought to be the first president in three decades to serve two consecutive terms, has claimed to have survived several coup attempts. Critics, however, argue that he has exaggerated threats to quash dissent. His legitimacy has been questioned, with the opposition asserting that his term should have concluded in February 2025.
Guinea-Bissau, one of the poorest countries globally with a population of over two million, has uninhabited islands that attract drug traffickers. This has led the UN to classify it as a "narco-state" and a significant co***ne transit hub from Latin America to Europe.
