Jesus Is Coming

Pride rarely announces itself.

It often disguises itself as confidence, intelligence, or success.

That is why it is so difficult to recognize.

"A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit."

— Proverbs 29:23

Money solves some problems.

Wisdom prevents many of them from happening in the first place.

"How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!"

— Proverbs 16:16

Many people spend years climbing.

Few stop to ask whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall.

"Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity."

— Ecclesiastes 1:2

Feelings can guide.

But they can also deceive.

Wisdom asks a question many people avoid:

"Where does this road end?"

"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."

— Proverbs 14:12

Activity is not the same as purpose.

A full calendar can still leave an empty soul.

Ecclesiastes reminds us to examine not only what fills our days, but what gives them meaning.

Many people chase attention.

Few build character.

A good reputation will outlive every moment of popularity.

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches."

— Proverbs 22:1

Not every person moving fast is moving wisely.

Many mistakes are not caused by lack of effort.
They are caused by lack of direction.

A slower path with wisdom often reaches farther than a faster path without it.

“Much study wearies the body.” — Ecclesiastes 12:12

Attention can be purchased. Respect cannot.

One is given for a moment. The other is earned over time through character.

A good reputation will outlive temporary applause.
