This morning, I went to our staff Bathroom and saw the toilet like this with seat raised…I giggled because I remembered the war this scenario caused years ago between a man, his wife and daughter.

The man was used to raising the toilet seat each time he used the toilet and his 6 year old daughter grew accustomed to it.

One day he traveled and was gone for one month. When he returned his daughter hugged him and cried so hard.

Dad: Daughter why are you crying so hard dear, are you not happy dad is back home?

Daughter: No dad, you’ve been hiding in the house since you said you traveled. Everytime I come back from school and go to use the toilet, the seat is raised and no one else does that but you. Also in the mornings whenever I wake up to go to school.
Dad, You are the only one that raises toilet seat in the house.

Dad: I don’t understand what you are saying daughter, are you the one raising the toilet seat just because you miss daddy.

Daughter: No Daaadddyyy, you are the only one that does that but then since you traveled, some days the toilet seat is up. I don’t think it’s mommy because she lets the cover down all the time. She hasn’t done it before so Dad, I still believe you didn’t travel. It was you in the house, maybe hiding from me…She looks at mom..

Mom: Oh yes, since your dad left, when I miss him, I always raise the toilet seat and that brings beautiful memories of us. It’s me raising the toilet seat Angel. Why would you talk about toilet seat to dad when you can tell him how much you missed him.

Daughter: when I wake up in the morning in my room and go to use the toilet and then when I return from school in the afternoon, so those are the times you miss daddy. Mom I don’t think you really missed my daddy.

Dad: Frances, WE NEED TO TALK LIKE RIGHT NOW. Angel darling, excuse us for a minute. Go to your room for now, mom and dad need to talk a bit..

Little baby Angel dashed towards her room then looked back to take a second glance at her infuriated mom. Mom shakes her head and rolls her eyes at her..

Angel: Daaddd, mom is rolling her eyes at me…

Dad: Go to your room. Your mom can roll her eyes all she wants. We are talking now and she has a lot of explaining to do.

What problem is this 6 year old Angel causing? Hopefully it’s a problems that will be resolved.

So my friend Bernard Patrick faced the biggest fear of his entire life after moving into a house he paid for.

This was in 2018.

He was urgently searching for a house to live in. He informed me to help him in the search as well. I told him I would ask around and inform him if I saw any.

Days later we found this particular house. It was located in a developing area. There were bushes around. Few trees and a few houses too.

At first sight, my friend was excited because he loved nature. The tree he saw and the serene environment got him loving the house even before he entered.

After inspecting the interior of the house he made payments. It was just what he wanted.

My friend called me later to tell me he had found a house. I was happy for him. I visited the house that evening, it was still a new house. He told me that the agent who gave him the house told him it was only one woman who stayed in the house. And after she died mysteriously, in the house, the house has been left vacant till date. So he was the second person moving in.

I asked him if he had prayed first before moving in and he said yes.

The following day, he packed in fully. I was the one who helped him.

Days later, while we were talking on the phone, my friend told me he has been hearing things moving in the ceiling of the house. He said he suspected it was cockroaches, so he planned to buy an insecticide on his way back from work.

That night he used it in the whole house, the opening of the ceiling he sprayed it there. Locked his door and sat outside.

An hour later he walked back into the house and slept.

2am in the morning, he felt something cold on his feet. It kept rubbing him. It felt like water had touched his bed. When the coldness continued, he opened his eyes to see.

Only to find 4 big python snakes crawling around him. One more was coming down from the opening in the ceiling. It fell to the floor the moment he turned on his light.

My friend screamed and jumped up.

How he managed to escape from the room is still a miracle. Obviously, the insecticides didn't kill the snakes but made them uncomfortable in the ceiling, so they came down from the ceiling to receive oxygen.

My friend ran out shouting.

He called my line and a few neighbors.

By daybreak, a total of 6 python snakes with tiny baby snakes and unhatched eggs were exhumed from the ceiling of the three-bedroom flat.

Many of us who moved into certain apartments, only care about the interior of the house. We forget to check the ceiling because we don't live in the ceiling. We fail to realize that in that ceiling could house deadly reptiles and creatures that could harm us.
