IMPORTANT SALES CLOSING SKILL I TAUGHT ONE OUR SALESPERSONS AT THE GAS SHOP.

Yesterday, I was walking on a street adjacent my street where one of our gas outlets is located.

An elderly woman beckoned on me. She knew I owned the gas shop.

When I approached her, she asked me if we have gas cylinders in the shop.

I told her Yes. Then she requested she followed me to go see.

We got to the shop. I showed her the ones we have with their prices.

Eventually, she chose the 3kg cylinder.

But there was a problem...

We didn't have the burner and control.

We had just the cylinder and hanger.

So, I told her we will get the burner and control from the other shop.

But she insisted we fix the burner and control before payment.

Then she left after telling my salesperson to call on her when it is ready.

We got the burner and control in less than 5 minutes.

So, I instructed my salesperson to take the cylinder, hanger, burner and control to the woman's house and fix right there.

The boy replied me that the woman said he should come to her house to call her.

He was of the opinion that we should just call her to come.

Then I laughed at his sales ignorance🤣

*I told him that if he doesn't go fast with the items to fix at the woman's house, he will lose the sale*. The woman might change her mind.

He listened and rushed to the woman's house to fix the gas cylinder.

But to my surprise. He took him longer time than expected before he could return.

So, when he came back, and I asked him why he didn't come back on time.

He confirmed what I had told him earlier that he might lose the sale if he didn't rush to fix the cylinder at the woman's house.

He told me that as he got to this elderly woman's house, she was already making calls inquiring about gas cylinders.

*Then I told him , if you had waited for the woman to come back to you for that cylinder, you would have waited forever and lose that sale*.

So, what is the lesson here:*FOLLOW UP*.

One of the skills of closing deals is *follow up*.

Some of us, in our business.

The only thing we need to get more sales is just to follow up.

Follow up everyone who have shown interest in your business , products or services from the beginning of this year.
