Insulin is a vital hormone that controls how cells and tissues absorb energy as well as the breakdown of fats and proteins.
Without insulin, your body will break down its own fat and muscle, resulting in weight loss. This can lead to a serious short-term condition called diabetic ketoacidosis. This is when the bloodstream becomes acidic, you develop dangerous levels of ketones in your blood stream and become severely dehydrated.
If you encounter symptoms such as increased thirst, unexplained weight reduction, frequent urination, increased appetite, and feeling a tingling sensation in your hands or feet, chances are that you are a diabetic.
Reach out to us if you experience any of these symptoms or if you need to speak to a doctor. You can find our contact details in our bio
