For the first time in WWE history, Agbádá was proudly worn inside a WWE ring, courtesy of a Yoruba son, Oba Femi (real name: Isaac Odugbesan). He stepped into the ring to address over 61 million viewers after defeating Brock Lesnar, “The Beast,” in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam last Saturday.

It was a powerful moment that brought Yoruba culture to millions of viewers around the world and showed that our heritage belongs on the global stage. Moments like this remind us that the Yoruba people continue to make their mark across the world. Àṣà wa ò ní bàjẹ́.

One day, the Yoruba Nation will stand. Àṣẹ.
