How can you, as a Nigerian, believe and spread an unverified story just to de-market your own country? 🤦♂️
FIFA never accused Nigeria of corruption. They only posted a 2023 image of a stadium project in Birnin Kebbi as part of football development efforts — nothing more.
The stadium being compared online is actually Talanta Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, not funded by FIFA but by the Kenyan Government, at a cost of Ksh44.7 billion (around $350 million) to host the 2027 AFCON.
Let’s stop using unverified stories to score political points. Patriotism means protecting Nigeria’s image, not destroying it for headlines. 🇳🇬💚

This was the scene… the very car that took ZANKUCOMEDY’s life 😢💔. May the rides we celebrate never turn into the coffins we’re carried in ⚰️🙏

FG Introduces New Fossil Fuel Tax, Nigerians to Pay at Point of Purchase
The Federal Government has announced the introduction of a 5% tax on fossil fuels, which will take effect from January 2026.
According to the new tax law, Nigerians will pay a 5% surcharge on all fossil fuel products provided or produced in the country. The levy will be deducted at the point of purchase. However, renewable energy, household kerosene, cooking gas, and compressed natural gas are exempted from the surcharge.
The government said the move is aimed at discouraging fossil fuel consumption and encouraging a shift towards cleaner energy sources. Analysts explained that the new levy functions like a carbon tax, designed both to reduce emissions and generate government revenue.
Energy experts noted that while the policy could help Nigeria meet its climate commitments and raise funds for sustainable development, it may also worsen inflation. Motorists are expected to increase fares, which could drive up the cost of goods and services.
Some policy analysts criticized the flat rate surcharge, saying it fails to consider inequality in Nigeria, where many citizens and small businesses rely on petrol generators. They argued that a gradual or progressive approach would have reduced the burden on vulnerable groups.
The government disclosed that revenue from the surcharge will support the implementation of the Climate Change Act 2021, finance the National Climate Change Council Secretariat, and fund clean energy technology, adaptation projects, and green jobs.
This development comes two years after the removal of fuel subsidies, alongside higher electricity tariffs and accelerated renewable energy adoption under the Tinubu administration.
Reports show that Nigeria’s solar capacity increased in 2024, reaching 385.7MWp in total and placing the country fourth in Africa, as more households turned to cheaper renewable energy alternatives.

MTN Nigeria What’s Going On?
With the recent news circulating about the federal government’s approval of a 50% increase in data prices, many Nigerians were already bracing for the impact. But MTN seems to have taken things to another level!
Your latest data price adjustment goes beyond what was expected. Why the excessive hike? Why are Nigerians being made to pay even more than what was officially stated?
In a country where the cost of living is already unbearable, this move is unfair and inconsiderate! We need transparency and fairness in these adjustments. MTN, explain yourselves!
