Python Community Katsina Needs Your Support

For the past 7 months, Python Community Katsina has continued running trainings and community activities without funding from the Python Software Foundation, which we normally rely on for support.

Despite this, our members and volunteers have continued contributing from their own resources to keep our programmes running.

We are grateful to the Katsina State Institute of technology and management (KSITM)for providing us with office space. However, we now need to equip that space so more people can learn and build.

We are seeking support from individuals, companies, organizations, philanthropists and partners in the form of:

• Computers and laptops
• Robotics and Raspberry Pi kits
• Arduino, ESP32, and raspberrypi and electronics components
• Projectors and networking equipment
• Internet and power backup
• Training materials
SMART SCREENS etc
• Financial support for trainings and community projects

There are many young people in Katsina who are eager to learn programming, AI, robotics and other technologies, but access to the right tools remains a major challenge.

We have the people. We have the space. We have the commitment. We need the tools to build.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: PyKids Robotics Competition 2026

Python Community Katsina is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the PyKids Robotics Competition 2026, a robotics and technology training programme designed specifically for secondary school students.

The programme is designed to provide students with practical exposure to robotics, programming, artificial intelligence, and real-world problem-solving. Participants will learn through hands-on activities while developing the creativity, teamwork, and technical skills needed to thrive in the future of technology.

Through the programme, students will gain:

• Hands-on introduction to Artificial Intelligence fundamentals
• Practical robotics building and programming experience
• Exposure to real-world problem-solving and innovation challenges
• Mentorship from the Python Community Katsina team
• Eligibility for the 1st AI & Robotics Exhibition and Innovation Challenge 2026
• A strong foundation for future STEM and technology career pathways

We invite secondary schools, parents, educators, and students to take advantage of this opportunity to introduce young people to the world of robotics and emerging technologies.
