Network Capacity-Building Training

On 8th August 2026, our team conducted a capacity-building training for seven (7) network members across Sumaila, Kiru, and Bichi LGAs under the FCC Project.

The training strengthened participants’ understanding of the project, clarified their roles in community-level implementation, and enhanced their knowledge of effective referral processes.

A key component of the session was a hands-on practical training on referral form completion. Participants developed practical skills in accurately documenting, processing, and following up on referrals. This is expected to improve the quality of referrals, strengthen beneficiary follow-up, and promote effective linkage to appropriate services.

Overall, the training enhanced the readiness and capacity of network members to effectively support FCC activities within their communities, contribute to improved project implementation, and promote increased uptake of essential services.

On 12th July, 2026, we engaged members of the faith community in a powerful session that demonstrated how faith can be a catalyst for healthier families and stronger communities.

Grounded in shared values of love, responsibility, and care for one another, the discussion highlighted the importance of healthy child spacing, open spousal communication, and timely referral to health facilities for professional counselling and services. Participants were encouraged to make informed decisions together, seek accurate information, and support one another in building healthier homes.

As trusted voices continue to champion positive change, misconceptions are replaced with understanding, families are empowered to make informed choices, and communities move closer to a future where every mother, father, and child has the opportunity to thrive.

Faith is more than belief—it is compassion in action, hope in practice, and a commitment to protecting the well-being of every family.

On 5th July 2026, our team conducted faith-based messaging across three churches as part of ongoing community engagement on child spacing under the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project.

The sessions were held at St. Michael Catholic Church, Sitti Gidan Kota, Assemblies of God Church, U@nguwar Gara, Magami, and ECWA Church, Bunturun, Gani.

During the services, faith-based messages emphasized the importance of child spacing from a biblical perspective, highlighting responsible parenthood, maternal and child health, and the role of families in making informed decisions that promote the well-being of mothers, children, and the community. Congregants were encouraged to seek accurate information and support from healthcare providers while embracing child spacing as a practice that aligns with caring for God's gift famil@.

On 1st July 2026, our team conducted a counseling session on child spacing in collaboration with health experts at Gani Primary Health Centre and Sitti Primary Health Centre. The session provided participants with accurate, evidence-based information on the benefits of healthy child spacing, available family planning methods, and the importance of making informed decisions for the well-being of mothers, children, and families. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive professional guidance in a supportive and confidential environment.

On 28th June 2026, during the morning service at Bishara Ikon Allah Church, Sitti Gida Kota, the Capacity Development Initiative for the African Child (CDIAC), serving as an Integrated Faith and Cultural Champion (IFCC) under the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project of the Centre for Communication and Social Impact, delivered a faith-based message on child spacing.

Drawing from biblical principles, the session highlighted the importance of child spacing in promoting the health and well-being of mothers, children, and families. Worshippers were encouraged to embrace responsible parenthood, make informed decisions about family planning, and build healthy, God-honoring homes through wisdom and proper child spacing.

On 27th June 2026, our team conducted a capacity-building training for community networks across Gani, Magami, and Sitti Wards. The session was designed to strengthen their knowledge and equip them with the practical skills needed to effectively support the implementation of the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project.

A total of six community networks from the three wards participated in the training. They were empowered to continue community mobilisation, facilitate household follow-up visits, and sustain engagement within their communities, ensuring that the project's impact continues even during periods when our team is not on the ground.

On 21st June 2026, during the evening session, the Capacity Development Initiative for the African Child (CDIAC), serving as an Integrated Faith and Cultural Champion (IFCC) under the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project of the Centre for Communication and Social Impact, facilitated a community dialogue at Unguwar Gara, Magami Ward, Sumaila LGA with Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), their husbands, Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM), men, and women.
The dialogue focused on the benefits of child spacing and the different child spacing methods available, providing participants with an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and gain accurate information to support informed decision-making for healthier families and communities.

On 21st June 2026, during the morning session, the Capacity Development Initiative for the African Child (CDIAC), serving as an Integrated Faith and Cultural Champion (IFCC) under the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project of the Centre for Communication and Social Impact, delivered faith-based messages on child spacing at Assembly of God Church, Magami, reaching approximately 400 worshippers.
From a biblical perspective, the session emphasized the need to embrace child spacing as a means of promoting the health and well-being of mothers, children, and families in general. Worshippers were encouraged to practice responsible parenthood, wise family planning, and informed decision-making in order to build healthier and God-honoring homes.

On 7th June 2026, the Capacity Development Initiative for the African Child (CDIAC), serving as an Integrated Faith and Cultural Champion (IFCC) under the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project of the Centre for Communication and Social Impact, facilitated a community dialogue at Sitti Community, Gani Ward, Sumaila LGA, reaching 73 participants.
The dialogue brought together Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), their husbands, Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM), men, and women to discuss the benefits of child spacing and the different child spacing methods available. The session provided a platform for open discussion, experience sharing, and increased awareness aimed at promoting informed family health decisions and healthier communities.
