The Tinubu administration has flagged off the reconstruction of the long-neglected Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, a critical route plagued by years of deterioration and insecurity, including frequent kidnappings under the Buhari administration. Governor Uba Sani, representing President Tinubu at the ceremony, hailed the project as a fulfillment of promises to improve Northern infrastructure, crediting improved security to the "Kaduna Peace Model" and NSA Nuhu Ribadu’s efforts. The 14-month project, alongside expedited work on Kaduna’s Eastern and Western Bypasses, aims to boost economic activity and restore safe travel on Nigeria’s second-busiest highway.

The resolution was part of a seven-point communiqué issued after the Forum’s 4th meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday.

Chaired by Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, the Forum stated that while the PDP remains open to alliances with like-minded groups, it will not participate in any coalition or merger.

The governors also addressed internal party matters, recommending that the Deputy National Secretary act as the National Secretary pending the nomination of a substantive candidate from the South-East zone.
