On Saturday, I had the privilege of speaking to students at Bayero University, Kano, on the topic of Graphic Design and Brand Identity Design.

One thing I wanted every student in that room to understand is this:

Your creativity can become a valuable skill.

Graphic design is more than making things look beautiful. It's about solving problems, helping businesses communicate better, and creating opportunities for yourself in the digital economy.

During the session, we discussed: What graphic and brand identity design really mean How beginners can get started with little or no experience The tools needed to learn the skill How to build a portfolio How to attract clients and start earning from design

The energy in the room was incredible. The questions, curiosity, and eagerness to learn reminded me why I enjoy sharing knowledge.

A big thank you to the organizers for the opportunity to contribute and inspire the next generation of creatives and tech professionals.

To every student who attended: don't wait until you feel ready. Start where you are, learn consistently, and keep improving. The opportunities are out there for those willing to put in the work.

TaxEquip is an AI-powered business finance platform designed to help sole traders, freelancers, contractors, and small business owners make informed financial decisions with confidence.

The platform currently provides tax guidance grounded in HMRC guidance, helping users understand allowable expenses, compliance obligations, and tax-related questions in plain English.

I created a logo making use of the brand initials and a subtle arrow.

Most people don't see what happens behind the scenes of a design project.

They only see the final logo, flyer, or brand identity.

What they don't see are the late nights spent refining concepts, making adjustments, reviewing details, and ensuring every element serves a purpose.

Last night, I stayed up working on a client project because I believe every business deserves a design that does more than just look good, it should communicate value, build trust, and help the brand stand out.

When a client trusts me with their brand, I take that responsibility seriously. Meeting deadlines matters, but delivering quality that helps them achieve their goals matters even more.
