A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is going to crash into the Moon this August.

Back in January 2025, this rocket launched two landers to the Moon. Job done. But after dropping them off, the upper stage got left behind in space.

It's been drifting ever since.

Now, astronomers have confirmed, it's heading straight for the Moon.

On August 5, 2026, it will hit the lunar surface at 5,400 mph. Seven times the speed of sound.

It won't hurt anyone. But it will leave a brand new crater on the Moon. One made by us.

NASA's cameras will be watching. We'll get to see the mark we left behind.

This is what happens when we leave our junk in space. 🚀

Thermal imaging highlights the striking difference between electric vehicles and traditional gasoline cars. By detecting heat signatures and translating temperature into colors, these cameras clearly illustrate how differently the two handle energy.

Traditional gas engines rely on combustion, making them inefficient as they waste massive amounts of energy through heat. Under a thermal lens, a gas car's hood glows intensely bright, while a hot exhaust line runs underneath all the way to the tailpipe.

Electric vehicles use highly efficient motors and batteries, producing significantly less wasted thermal energy. An EV's body remains mostly cool and dark on a thermal scan, visually proving that they channel their power directly into forward motion rather than wasting it as heat.

Did You Know that the universe just got a whole lot bigger thanks to AI! 🌌

• Did You Know?

Astronomers at the University of Warwick used a new AI tool called RAVEN to scan NASA’s TESS mission data from over 2.2 million stars — and discovered 118 validated exoplanets, including 31 brand-new worlds!

• Did You Know?

The AI also flagged over 2,000 high-quality planet candidates, nearly 1,000 of them completely new. What once took years of manual work now happens at lightning speed.

• Did You Know?

We’ve now confirmed more than 6,000 exoplanets beyond our solar system and scientists believe there are billions more in our galaxy alone. There are more planets than stars!

• Did You Know?

Some of these new finds include ultra-short-period planets that whip around their stars in less than 24 hours and rare worlds in the mysterious “Neptunian desert.”

The age of AI-powered space discovery is here! Are we on the verge of finding Earth-like planets with signs of life? đź‘˝
