JAMB Registration 2024/2025: Form, Fee, Date, Deadline & Guidelines

Are you gearing up for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination in 2024? About JAMB
JAMB, an acronym for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, is a Nigerian government agency dedicated to conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Direct Entry (DE) examination for individuals aspiring to secure admission into various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The UTME caters to candidates who have completed their secondary school education, while the DE is tailored for candidates holding a diploma, NCE, or an equivalent qualification.

JAMB Registration Requirements 2024/2025
If you plan to register for JAMB 2024, you must meet the following requirements:

1. National Identification Number (NIN): Obtain this unique 11-digit number from any NIMC enrollment center or through the NIMC mobile app. Your NIN is essential for creating your JAMB profile and registering for the examination.

2. JAMB Profile Code: Generate this 10-digit number by sending your NIN to 55019 or 66019 via text message. The JAMB profile code is necessary for purchasing your JAMB ePIN and completing your registration at any accredited CBT center. The generation of your JAMB profile code incurs a cost of N50.

3. Phone Number: Provide a valid and active phone number for creating your JAMB profile and receiving important information from JAMB. Use the same phone number throughout the registration process and the examination period.

4. Email Address: Supply a valid and functional email address for creating your JAMB profile and accessing your JAMB portal. Maintain the same email address throughout the registration process and the admission period.

5. O'level/A'level Result: Have your O'level or A level result ready before registering for JAMB. Accepted results include WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE. You can also register with awaiting results if you expect to receive them before admission, but uploading your result on the JAMB portal is mandatory before admission.

6. JAMB ePIN: This unique code, costing N3,500, must be obtained from authorized channels such as banks, online payment platforms, USSD codes, etc. Additionally, pay N1500 for the examination fee, N1500 for the optional Mock-UTME (if applicable), and N700 for the registration fee. The total cost of JAMB registration is N7,200, inclusive of the ePIN, examination fee, optional Mock-UTME, and registration fee.

7. Biodata: Provide personal details, including your name, date of birth, gender, state of origin, local government area, etc. Submit your passport photograph, undergo biometric verification, and provide your signature. Official Statement: Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Clarification on Examination Registration Fee

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) would like to address recent publications implying an increase in examination registration fees. Contrary to these insinuations, the cost of obtaining JAMB's UTME application documents remains at N3,500, a figure established since its reduction from N5,000 in 2018.

Despite the prevailing economic challenges affecting operational costs, JAMB asserts that there has been no upward adjustment in the price of application documents. The Board emphasizes its commitment to alleviating candidates' financial burden and ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities.

To keep costs low, JAMB has taken proactive measures, including providing the Use of English reading text free of charge through a QR code, thereby preventing an additional financial burden on candidates.

Moreover, JAMB rejects calls for a drastic increase in fees from partnering and privately-owned centers, reinforcing its stance that services are not for profit. For clarity, the 2024 UTME/DE e-PIN remains at N3,500. The registration fee of N700, previously paid to CBT centers, will now be collected by the Board, alongside N1,500 for the main UTME and N1,500 for the optional Mock-UTME, streamlining the process for candidates.
