Easy tricks to check honey purity and know if honey is Adulterated or not.

1.The Thumb Test.
Place a small amount of honey on your thumb and check if spills off quickly or spread around easily. If it does it may not be pure. Pure honey is thick while impure honey is runny when place on a thumb.

2.The Water Test.
Take a teaspoon of honey and put in a glass full of water. Observation, fake honey or adulterate honey will dissolve in the water, while pure honey which has more dense texture will settle right at the bottom of the glass. The same is the case with blotting paper, if you pour pure honey on it, it will not get absorbed or leave stains.

3. The Flame Test
Take a dry matchstick and dip the top in honey. Strick the matchstick against the matchbox. If it light, your honey is pure, but bare in mind that most matchstick we have today are not up to standard, because it tend to loose it quality, before or during use.

4. Use Vinegar
Mix a teaspoon of honey with some water and add 3 to 5 drops of vinegar stare together. If this mixture foam up, there's higher chance that your honey maybe adulterated.

5. Spoon Test
Take a small amount of honey on a spoon. Hold it up and see if it stay on the spoon .Result... Pure honey will stay glued to the spoon and fall off slowly. If the honey falls off fast the honey is impure.

6.Iodine Test
Direction, take a spoon full of honey, add some water and few drops of iodine, mix it well and observe if it change to blue color. Result , if the honey turns blue, it's bogus. Your honey is mixed with some other substances like flour or starch in it.
