ISSUES EVERY BUSINESS OWNER SHOULD BE WARY OF & HOW TO PREVENT IT
I saw this post somewhere & it relates to this burning issue online about the disclaimer a Company put out for their staff that left. According to the information out here, the staff that left was kind of the 'face' of the Company & she also started the same business, after leaving.
I will not go into details because I don't have them. I'd just bring out some legal issues and how it affects your business.
The Law actually provides for these kind of issues - and as a business owner, you can avoid & plan for them.
1. A Non-Compete Agreement or Clause: The Law allows an employer to have a contract where they restrict an employee from engaging in competitive activities with the employer both during the course of employment and after the person leaves, but for a specific time.
So you can write 'You're not allowed to engage in this X business, around X location, for the next 6 months, after you leave this Company'
2. Employee Exit Agreement - Every business owner should have a contract that outlines the terms of an employee's departure.
This information is for business owners who want to build systems, and not just necessarily raise 'stars'
Have you done your business audit? Do you have staff? Do you provide services or sell products? What do you think you need to put your business on the global market? Or are you currently having a mental block?
You can send a DM if these resonates with you?
What do you think about this image? Do you agree that your lazy staff don't really matter?

AS, A BUSINESS OWNER, WHICH CONTRACT(S) HAVE YOU HAVE SIGNED & ARE IN YOUR FILE(S)?
From time to time, even before you invite a professional, for a more expensive & clinical work, you must be able to audit your business.
So, let's talk about legal audit - What contract(s) have you signed for your business? Or let's say it this way? Have you ever signed any contract for your business?
Founders Agreement? Employment Contract/Offer Letters? NDA? Okay!
You probably have signed Service Agreements? Or you haven't?
What of Vendor-Supplier Agreement? Do you have a clear refund policy?
Not even one! And you're aiming for a larger local market or the global market?
Hmmmm! It doesn't work that way.
You should do an audit by yourself and see what you have or don't, then invite a professional.
A business owner MUST take Contracts as Important & Mandatory! It's not just a bulletproof. It's a trigger for making good money & attracting the global market.
I am the Lawyer that speaks business.
I help businesses owners, Creatives become legally bulletproof & make more money

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT (2)
In Nollywood movies, it's common to see a Policeman waltz into a house & shout,
'Are you Mr XYZ? You're under arrest'
And when Mr. XYZ & his family members scream, wail & ask, 'What did he do'?
The Policeman will proudly say, ' When you come to our office, you'd know what you did' OR 'You're now crying, when you were sharing the money, you didn't cry' and many people are forced to start defending themselves there, without even knowing why they were arrested.
THIS IS WRONG IN LAW.
Section 6 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act provides that:
π
The Policeman or anyone making the arrest MUST inform the arrested person IMMEDIATELY of the reason for arrest
π
The Policeman MUST inform the arrested person of his
