Midnight's Obsession 29/05/2026

MIDNIGHT'S OBSESSION

Midnight Vale grew up with one lesson burned into her soul:

> Men are wicked.

Raised by an alcoholic mother destroyed by abandonment, Midnight learned early that love was dangerous, temporary, and never meant for girls like her. Quiet, shy, and emotionally guarded, music became the only place she could breathe freely.

Then she met him.

Lucien Cross - America's dangerously charming millionaire music icon. Beautiful. Obsessive. Feared by the media and worshipped by millions.

The moment Lucien hears Midnight sing, she becomes his fixation.

What begins as attraction quickly turns into something darker: late-night messages, stolen lyrics, possessive touches, and a love so intense it feels impossible to escape.

But Midnight is not easy to love.

Every kiss feels like betrayal. Every touch awakens the trauma her mother buried inside her. And while Lucien is determined to break down every wall she built, the world around them begins to fall apart.

Fans hate her. Secrets begin surfacing. Someone is watching her. And the father she believed abandoned her may not have left willingly at all.

Now Midnight must decide:

Will she keep running from the man obsessed with her...

Or will she finally risk everything for a love dangerous enough to ruin them both?

> He found her voice.

She became his obsession.

He was the danger her mother warned her about.

Read this story to uncover the mystery behind two mothers, one clinic, two children but one father.
Motherhood, love, politics, secrets and the life of two children entangled in two different world

The Child she never bore

Chapter 1

The Night the Babies Changed.
If only babies could talk
before they cry****

-----------
Adanna Whitmore’s POV
------------

The pain came like fire tearing through my body.

I remember gripping the iron bedframe of the clinic, my silk dress soaked with sweat, rain hammering the roof so loudly it felt like the sky was breaking open just for me.

“This isn’t right…” I gasped. “It’s too early.”

No one answered me properly. Only hurried footsteps. Whispered panic.
Damien wasn’t here. Of course he wasn’t. He had begged me not to come to Adera.

“You’re seven months pregnant,” he had said.

“Nine,” I corrected him, even then refusing to admit fear.

Now I understood what he meant.
I turned my head and saw another woman beside me—curled in pain, her face pale, her wrapper old and torn. She looked like life had already given up on her long before this night.
And still… she screamed just like me.

Thunder cracked so violently I thought the world had split open.

Then everything inside me broke.
And I heard it.

A cry.

My baby.
But I couldn’t even lift my head anymore.

--------
Mariam’s POV
--------
I thought I was going to die on that road.

Six kilometres. That’s what I walked while holding my stomach, begging my unborn child to wait. There was no car. No money. Only rain and pain and silence from a world that never cared if I lived or died.

When I reached the clinic, I was already broken.

They laid me down beside her.
The rich woman.

Even in pain, she looked like someone the world would protect.

Me? I was just… there.

But when the pain came, none of that mattered.

I screamed until my throat burned.

I remember thinking: If I die here, at least my baby should live.

Then I heard my child cry.

My baby

My child was alive.

That was all I needed.

I didn’t question anything after that. my little angel was here with me and the world take it back.

--------
Nurse’s POV
--------
I have delivered so many...........

Greetings to you,

You awaken, inhaling your first breath before the ritual of morning coffee,
Just as you did with me.

Fortunate for you, I did not endure to see this day.

I observed your awakening while I remained in slumber.

I dreamt the same dreams as you.

I harbored aspirations for this day, much like you.

I witnessed you bid goodnight when I uttered my farewell, unbeknownst to me.

I heard you greet the morning while I lingered in the shadows.

I yearned to be remembered as I once was, yet even you have forsaken me.

Why? What transgression did I commit to warrant this?

I beheld you throughout the preceding day.

I endeavored to etch it into your memory.

You drifted into sleep with a smile gracing your lips.

Yet you awoke and left me in your wake.
Do not forget the dreams we envisioned together.

Do not overlook the ambitions you vowed to pursue at my deathbed.

I recall it was around midnight
That I relinquished my spirit without cognizance.

But you have arrived at this day.
So pursue those dreams.

I saw you brimming with confidence; maintain that courage.

I shall miss you, yet I take solace in the knowledge that my date is tenderly inscribed in your diary,

That I am worthy of your smile each time you reminisce about our shared moments.

Yours sincerely,
Yesterday.
