WOMEN & THE ECONOMY:
The conceptualized theory of women's role in global economic engineering has changed. The Africa's age-long believe is that "a woman's education ends in the kitchen", by this believe, the role of the woman in the global market is under serious strain. Women need the same grooming accorded their male counterpart, in order to match the gap. Until very recent, African women have started showcasing their makeups, to prove wrong the narrative that kept them behind closed doors. Some cultures considers that, giving women a chance could mean putting the wrong captain to a ship. The Nigeria Airforce has recently produced two young female fighter pilots, a role that they intend to compete squarely with men; Imeobong Ime Umana, a young female Nigerian, was some time ago elected president of the prestigious Harvard University's law review, she succeeded Barrack Obama. She's said to be the first black and first female law student to lead the committee. In the rural Nigerian economy, women should be encouraged to aquire technical skills. In Ghana and the United States for instance, women are more trusted with heavy duty trucks than their male counterpart. The world is producing more women leaders, as well as astronauts and other diverse endeavors. There are many such women scattered all over Nigeria and also in Akwa Ibom State. Maddy is an indigene and Eket based entrepreneur, she needs some encouragement from well meaning individuals, as well as the government. She should be improvised, to meet for the level available to all. Women are desperately yearning for gender equality. As a "Pipe Fitting Technician" and also a leather engineer, with particular specialty in shoe cobbling, Maddy seems poised to break the jinx that promotes disparity. When I stumbled on her recent posts, it reminds me of a time-tasted saying that " what a man can do, a woman can do better". She is expanding her theater by transferring the skills acquired to groom other young men and women of skills age for the benefit of humanity. Maddy Udo is among the few unnoticed skilled technicians that drives and fuels the economy. These brand of women are desperately breaking the gender barriers.
