I attended an entrepreneurship Summit and one of the facilitators for the event was one of the top entrepreneurs in town

Sitting among the panelist, a question was raised by someone in the audience, and what was it?

As someone who liked pastries (buns and co.) and loved producing them, she ventured into production and began selling. But as few months passed, patronage dropped and she wasn't making sales as she did during her initial moments.

Responding to this, One of the things Sir Offiong Ikpeme said that struck a chord was this, and I quote, "You don't run business with passion! You run business where there is money: then use the money to run your passion".

You don't venture into a business just because you have passion for it, but should rather venture into businesses that has propensity to give you money. Then use the money to run that business you have passion for.


It reminds me of what Robert Kiyashoki of Rich Dad Poor Dad said at one time paraphrased, " You will have to do/learn what you don't want in order to get what you want".

The days of humble beginnings can be 2years, 5years, 10years.

But in due time, efforts will always pay off, and what looked insignificant will blossom 🌸☺️
