MONTHLY TREKKING EXERCISE: KEEPING FIT TO SERVE AND PROTECT
Today, 6th June 2026, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+), led a significant turnout of the personnels and in the Command's monthly trekking exercise.
The exercise is aimed at promoting physical fitness, enhancing the well-being of personnel, and projecting a positive image of the Nigeria Police Force.
The CP's initiative also promotes stress management and socialization among the officers considering the hectic situation of the job.
Members of the Force Band made the exercise lively throughout with their live musics entertainment.
At the conclusion of the walk, participants were addressed and appreciated by the CP on the importance of fitness, visibility and intelligence-led policing, followed by a light refreshments.

CP SANI-OMOLORI ALIYU CONDUCTS ON-THE-SPOT ASSESSMENT OF LANZAI AND DOSHO COMMUNITIES IN DARAZO LGA
In a bid to ensure lasting peace and forestall further breakdown of law and order, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), today undertook an on-the-spot assessment of Lanzai and Dosho communities in Darazo Local Government Area.
The visit followed the recent clash between farmers and herders in the area, which resulted in loss of life, injuries, and destruction of property. Upon arrival, the CP engaged community leaders, youths, and other stakeholders from both communities in separate interactive sessions aimed at de-escalating tension and promoting mutual understanding.
During the assessment, CP Omolori personally inspected areas affected by the incident, including razed structures, to ascertain the level of damage. He subsequently commended Darazo Division, the tactical operatives, and the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) already deployed for their prompt response in restoring normalcy, while directing the immediate intensification of patrols across Lanzai, Dosho, and adjoining communities.
Addressing the residents in the presence of His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Sen. (Dr.) Bala A. Mohammed, CON, the Commissioner condemned all forms of reprisal attacks and warned that the law would take its full course against anyone found culpable, irrespective of status or affiliation. He further urged both farmers and herders to embrace dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and timely reporting of grievances to security agencies rather than resorting to self-help.
CP Sani-Omolori expressed his sincere condolences to the bereaved families and attended the funeral prayers for the deceased victims alongside the Darazo LGA Chairman, Hon. Sama’ila Ya’u (Talban Sade), the Emir of Darazo, HRH Alh. Ibrahim Bababa, the Member, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Sade Constituency, Hon. Dauda Lawan, and other members of the community.
The Command reassured the people of Bauchi State that it remains committed to protecting lives and property, and that discreet investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the clash is already ongoing to ensure justice for all parties involved.

BREAKTHROGH: BAUCHI POLICE RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIMS, ARREST SUSPECTS IN ALKALERI LGA, DISCREET INVESTIGATION ONGOING
The Bauchi State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping with the successful rescue of two victims and the arrest of key suspects in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
On 2nd June 2026 at about 0235 hours, unknown gunmen stormed the house of a resident (name withheld) of Kwarin Gadali Hamlet, Pali District, Alkaleri LGA, and abducted his 40-year-old wife and 25-year-old son to an unknown destination.
Upon receipt of the report at about 1146 hours, operatives from Pali Outstation immediately visited the scene of the crime and commenced intelligence-led operations to track the perpetrators and secure the release of the victims.
In a follow-up operation on 2nd June 2026 at about 2140 hours, a combined team of police, army, and local security operatives, acting on credible intelligence, arrested three suspects at Kuka Village, Duguri District, Alkaleri LGA. The suspects are Mainasara Alh. Umaru, 23; Buba Alh. Umaru, 20; and Muhammadu Usman, 19. Their arrest followed trails that led operatives to their residence.
Further investigation yielded results on 3rd June 2026 at about 1110 hours when the Officer-in-Charge, Pali Outstation, successfully arrested the youngest suspect, who confessed to having knowledge of the kidnapping and the whereabouts of the victims. Leveraging the confession, operatives extended their dragnet and arrested another suspect at large, one Ahmadu Umaru of Dalgaɗe.
Following intelligence-driven operations, the kidnapped victims were successfully rescued unhurt at about 1945 hours on 3rd June 2026. They have since been taken to the General Hospital, Alkaleri, for medical examination and attention.
All arrested suspects are currently in custody, and the case has been transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) for discreet and thorough investigation. The Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend other fleeing accomplices and recover any weapons used in the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), has commended the diligence and synergy of the operatives and other security agencies involved in the rescue. He reiterated the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on kidnapping and other violent crimes, and assured residents that perpetrators will be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent.
The CP also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to aid in crime prevention and detection.
