After speaking with Nigerians in Cape Town yesterday, I was able to have meaningful discussions this morning with three South African ministers and political party leaders regarding the ongoing challenges related to immigration, regional collaboration, and fostering peaceful coexistence between our nations.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Leon Schreiber, the South African Minister of Home Affairs and a prominent figure in the Democratic Alliance; Mr Velenkosini Hlabisa, the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP); and Mr Gayton McKenzie, the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture and leader of the Patriotic Alliance (PA).

Our conversations were productive and candid, focusing on the current challenges that affect both countries—particularly those related to migration, economic strains, youth unemployment, security issues, and the rising tensions faced by African foreigners in South Africa.

I firmly believe that Nigeria and South Africa, both prominent African nations, must enhance dialogue, bolster cooperation, and seek solutions based on justice, mutual respect, and adherence to the rule of law. In challenging times, leaders and citizens alike need to demonstrate responsible leadership, compassion, and restraint.

We collectively stressed the importance of law-abiding behaviour, avoiding violence, resisting hate or provocation, and allowing lawful institutions to address grievances through democratic and constitutional processes, regardless of the challenges we face.

The progress of Africa hinges on our ability to create unity, foster economic inclusivity, invest in our communities, and uphold the dignity of every African, no matter where they live.

I have never seen this type of thing before. Politicians in Abia State are running away from contesting the governorship election against Alex Otti in the state. Why are they running? Who is chasing them?

After months of hard man posturing, the deputy speaker has gone back to focus on running as a House of Representatives member. Another person in the party, Mascot Uzor Kalu, the brother of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has just withdrawn from the race as well.

Why are they afraid of contesting with the Painter of Abia? Or did they take the advice of the Imo State governor who told his party members not to use their last card or their children's school fees money for politics?

I said it before and I will keep saying it; Nigerians know what good leadership looks like and if you do well, your works will speak for you because people will see it.

The Abia State governorship election next year will go down in history as one where a winner will be known before 3 PM on the day of the election.

Abia people have decided to say no to rice.

Here is the judgement from the Federal High Court, no 6 is encompassing:

1. INEC can only monitor 2027 primaries but cannot fix timetable for when a political party should conduct its primaries for this election

2. INEC cannot give a shorter timeframe or abridge the period in which a political party can provide information of their candidates for 2027 election

3. INEC cannot give a shorter timeframe to political parties as regards withdrawal or replacement of candidates (Placeholders)

4. INEC cannot publish any final list of candidates for 2027 elections before 60 days to election.

5. INEC cannot fix 2027 campaigns to end 2 days to elections.

6. This is AN ORDER nullifying and setting aside the timeframes imposed by INEC for 2027 General Election for:

- the conduct of primary elections by political parties for the 2027 general elections

- the submission of personal particulars of candidates by their political parties for the 2027 general elections

- the withdrawal and replacement of candidates by political parties

- the publication of the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections and campaigning.

This would be a game changer.

Popular nightlife entrepreneur and social media personality Pascal Okechukwu, famously known as Cubana Chiefpriest, suffered a shocking political setback during the APC House of Representatives primary for the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency after reportedly securing just 14 votes out of 2,845 accredited delegates.

The outcome has stirred conversations across Imo State political circles, especially because many believed Cubana Chief Priest’s celebrity status, political visibility, and loud support for the Tinubu administration would give him an advantage at the polls.
