We are putting the Nigerian authorities on NOTICE.
The invitation of Israel Joe by the Nigeria Police is being closely monitored by Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. We will not tolerate any form of intimidation, unlawful detention, or abuse of power disguised as “investigation.”
Let it be clear: Israel Joe is not alone. Millions are watching. The world is watching.
Any attempt to act outside the law will be resisted with lawful action, public exposure, and sustained pressure.
We stand firmly and unapologetically with our leader. You cannot silence the voice of the people.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IN DELTA STATE!
I speak not just for myself, but for the entire DE-ADVOCATE FOR JUSTICE DELTA STATE CHAPTER as we stand solidly with our Human Rights President, Comrade Israel Joe.
What is happening in Delta State is unacceptable. Innocent citizens are being picked up in mass raids under the guise of fighting crime, only to later be tagged “innocent” and then slammed with outrageous bail demands of ₦150,000 and above. This is not law enforcement, this is oppression.
We have evidence. We have witnesses. And we will not keep quiet.
Comrade Israel Joe has always stood on the side of truth and justice. If speaking against injustice is now a crime, then something is fundamentally wrong with the system. Inviting him to Abuja will not silence the truth it will only amplify it.
To those trying to intimidate or show power, understand this: the people are watching. We will not be bullied, we will not be silenced, and we will not back down.
Justice must prevail. Accountability is not optional.

Today, the De-Advocates of Justice (Asaba Chapter) successfully secured the release of a vehicle belonging to a victim who was assaulted by officials of DESTMA. Following the incident, three out of the four victims were detained at the GRA Police Station of the Nigeria Police Force.
During the assault, the complainant also lost his iPhone 17 Pro Max. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that one of the DESTMA officials had concealed the phone inside an unused vehicle boot behind an air conditioning unit within their office premises.
We were able to secure bail for the detained victims yesterday, following the directive of our President, Comr. Isreal Joe.
However, we are concerned that the DPO of GRA appears to be attempting to cover up the matter under the guise of an ongoing investigation. We want to make it clear that we will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice. If the DPO fails to ensure accountability in this case, especially regarding the stolen phone, we will not hesitate to take further action for aiding and abetting.
Investigations are still ongoing, and we will keep the public updated with the final outcome.

I recently had a conversation with a high-ranking police officer in Asaba, Delta State, and what I heard was deeply concerning.
He spoke bitterly about the severe lack of operational vehicles within their unit. In fact, right in my presence, officers were trying to find a private individual to rent a vehicle from at a cost of ₦80,000 to ₦120,000 weekly, depending on the condition of the car. These officers not only cover these rental costs themselves but also pay for fuel out of their own pockets.
This is not an isolated issue. In another police team within Asaba, officers shared similar frustrations. Many of the vehicles they currently use, including Sienna vans, are in poor condition barely functional and certainly not fit for high-speed response or pursuit.
At the same time, these same officers are expected to uphold the highest standards and are condemned for extorting innocent Deltans. While misconduct can never be justified, it is important to ask: how can we demand accountability without providing the basic tools and welfare needed for daily operations?
This raises a critical question: how are our police officers expected to effectively combat crime and apprehend suspects under these conditions?
I am using this medium to call the attention of the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, and most importantly, the Executive Governor of Delta State. The welfare and operational capacity of our police force must be treated as a priority.
A safer society begins with equipping those sworn to protect it.

IS IT ILLEGAL TO RECORD A POLICE OFFICER IN NIGERIA? A LAWYER EXPLAINS
"Officer: stop recording me!"
But the real question is… who is breaking the law?
Many Nigerians don't know this: It is NOT illegal to record a police officer while he is performing his public duty.
Yes. Read that again.
A police officer on duty is a public officer performing a public function, and there is generally no law in Nigeria that prohibits you from recording what happens in public spaces, especially where your rights or safety may be involved.
In fact, recording can be your only protection against:
• Illegal arrest
• Extortion
• Harassment
• Abuse of power
• Evidence denial later
Because let’s be honest…
If everything is being done properly, why fear a camera?
But here is where it gets interesting ⚖️
While recording is not illegal, you must not:
• Obstruct the officer's work
• Incite violence
• Interfere with an investigation
• Become aggressive
Record quietly. Record responsibly. Record for accountability.
Now the controversial question
Nigerians must answer:
Why do some officers become aggressive the moment they see a camera?
Is it professionalism… or fear of accountability?
Know this today: Fundamental Rights under the Nigerian Constitution include freedom of expression and information.
Documentation is part of that reality in a democratic society.
The truth is simple: Power fears evidence.
Let me hear your honest opinion:
Should citizens have the absolute right to record police officers without intimidation?
Drop your answer YES or NO.
The truth you know shall set you free.

Earlier this morning, I witnessed a young man being chased and eventually bundled away by Operation Delta Sweep,a joint task force made up of the Army, Police, DSS, and Civil Defense.
I was stepping out to refill my gas when I saw two bikes speeding past my gate. One had a police officer, chasing another young man on a bike. When I asked what happened, the officer said the young man started running immediately he sighted the Delta Sweep Hilux.
This brings me to a serious concern.
Young people, if you know you have nothing incriminating on you, why run at the sight of law enforcement?
Running automatically puts you under suspicion. It escalates the situation and can even lead to unnecessary force or wrongful arrest.
I understand this fear I used to feel the same way before becoming an activist. But with awareness comes confidence.
We are no longer in the dark days of unchecked impunity. The world is more connected now. With social media and increasing human rights awareness, accountability is growing. Many cases now gain attention and justice even before reaching the police station.
This is not to say you should confront officers aggressively no. But you must be calm, aware, and composed.
Know your rights. Stay alert. But most importantly, do not panic.
Running can worsen your situation.
Stay safe, stay informed.
