March 22, 2016- IHTEF was birthed in the small City of Asaba with 2 NYSC members (serving in my office) and my Wife- Oge.

Today, IHTEF has grown to becoming institutionalised with pan African components, more team members, partners, and endorsements.

IHTEF has helped raise champions, inspired many and now an intellectual marketplace/transaction ground.

Today, we celebrate Karl Hala, Group General Manager, Continental Hotels Nigeria — a transformational leader whose impact on Nigeria’s hospitality ecosystem is both profound and enduring.

Since his entry into the Nigerian hospitality landscape, Karl has brought a distinct mindset rooted in excellence, people development, and industry collaboration. Beyond managing hotels, he has consistently created platforms for growth — opening doors for young industry leaders like myself and supporting capacity-building initiatives and championing knowledge-sharing platforms such as IHTEF.

His commitment to training, mentorship, and institutional development continues to inspire hospitality academies and professionals across the sector, setting standards others now learn from and aspire to.
