If you don’t scale up your profit may look a joke to you

Using surface ponds like tarpaulin, concrete, or rubber ponds makes fish sales easier to manage even for one person.

I sort my fish by size into different ponds before sales, so once a buyer chooses a pond, pricing is already clear. There’s no need for arguments during weighing, and I don’t have to enter the pond buyers simply select their fish and we scale,just a personal choice though and how it’s done here cus some places you need to enter the pond to bring the fish for them

Each pond contains uniform sizes, making the process fast and well organized.

The catfish market has changed and every serious farmer can feel it.
Previously, selling big fish was straightforward. Today, demand has shifted significantly. Due to the current economic reality, many consumers now prefer smaller sizes like 700g to 800g as they are more affordable.

However, production isn’t like that no matter what you can not make your fish to remain in just one particular size . As farmers, we can’t focus on a single size range. market women still expect a mix like a higher volume of smaller fish, with some 1kg and above, cus sometimes you tell them you have 700-800 and they will say they still need few 1kg and above too they won’t still come cus they prefer to buy in one place cus of transportation too
Truth fish farming goes beyond feeding and harvesting. It requires planning, market awareness, and strategic decision making.

At the moment, I’ve had about 2 tons of fish ready for sale for over two weeks, yet less than 1 ton has been sold despite price adjustments. Under normal conditions, this volume would have been sold within a week.
