Happy Workers’ Day, team!

Today is a moment to celebrate the impact of the work we do and the lives we touch through it.

As part of the LEAD Community Foundation, we encourage you to share something meaningful that reflects your journey, your impact, or your perspective on mental health and well-being.

It could be:
• A short reflection on what your work means to you
• A message on the importance of mental health
• A personal insight or story from your experience
• Or how you are intentionally caring for yourself today

Let your voice reflect the heart of LEAD, advocacy, awareness, and impact.

Tag a “work HERO” in the comments who inspires you and use our hashtags so we can amplify your message.

Let’s use today to inspire, connect, and remind people that the work we do truly matters.

In our community, we’ve all heard it:

"Be strong" or "Keep it in the family." This is "Inherited Silence", a cultural weight that tells us to hide our struggles rather than heal them.

But literacy leads to liberation!

We’re going deep into what mental health looks like specifically in our African context.

No jargon, just real talk about our stories and our future.

It’s time to break the cycle.

Let’s stop inheriting silence and start inheriting strength. See you there! 🌱✨

Why do you carry weights that aren’t yours?

Trauma isn’t always a single event that happens to one person.

Sometimes, it is a silent, collective weight passed down through generations, shaping our reactions, our fears, and our community’s mental health.

At LEAD Community Foundation, we believe that healing begins with understanding.

We are inviting you to a vital conversation where we move beyond individual symptoms to look at the roots of our collective experience.

It’s time to stop asking "What is wrong with me?" and start asking "What happened to us?"

Hi Family!

Have you noticed how much social media affects your mood lately? In our latest blog post, we take a look at the "Dangerous Side of Virality" in Nigeria and why we need to be more intentional about our mental health online.

Whether you're a student, a creator, or just someone who loves to scroll, this is a must-read for your mental well-being.

Let's learn to lead our lives, not just follow the trends. 🌿

We are extremely concerned about a disturbing video circulating on social media showing a content creator taking her own life by consuming a specific substance, which was clearly identified in the video.

Alarmingly, several popular content creators with large followings have replicated this video, further spreading harmful content.

As a mental health organization, we recognize the serious risk this poses.

Exposure to such content, especially from creators with significant influence, can be triggering and potentially deadly for vulnerable individuals.

Sharing methods or substances used in su***de is particularly dangerous and must not be normalized or replicated.

We also urge everyone, creators and users alike, to be extremely cautious and responsible about the content they post and share online.

Prioritizing mental health, safety, and compassion over virality is essential.
