Ijebu State Among Most Likely States to Be Created — Awujale Regent

The Regent of the Awujale stool and Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland, Oloorogun Dr. Sunny Folorunsho Kuku, has expressed confidence that Ijebu State remains one of the most likely states to be created in Nigeria if the opportunity arises.

Dr. Kuku made this known yesterday while responding to questions from an OOU RADIO reporter at the launch of the book titled Leadership Lessons From the Life and Reign of Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The event was held at Ogbagba Hall, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies – Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance Studies, Olabisi Onabanjo University Campus, Ago-Iwoye.

According to the Awujale Regent, the agitation for the creation of Ijebu State remains strong and enjoys wide support among the people of Ijebuland.

He noted that considering the historical significance, economic viability, and contributions of Ijebuland to national development, the proposed state stands a strong chance whenever the Federal Government decides to create additional states.

The book launch attracted dignitaries from different sectors, including traditional rulers, Regberegbes, political leaders, academics and media professionals, all of whom gathered to celebrate the enduring leadership legacy of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
