Diversity is good and bad in itself.

It is good because it helps to increase innovation and creativity and it is bad because it can cause tension which can lead to breakage.

What is most critical is ability to balance both ends of diversity.

When tension increases what happens is that people become silent and the truth is that silent is not golden when it comes to teamwork.

The real question is... How do I maximize the different potential and diversity in my team?

1. Understand that argument is not bad, understand that it is because they are passionate or are very interested in what is going on and that is why they are trying to get their opinion across. Separate the person from the argument.

2. Appreciate their perspective and how they see things. The reason they see differently is actually the reason you employed them which can lead to more creativity and innovation.
