Members of the team recently participated in an internal ThinkCell training session focused on strengthening presentation design, data visualization, and reporting skills. The session provided practical knowledge on how to communicate insights more clearly, structure information more effectively, and create presentations that support better decision-making.

NGLPP 2ND NODE ESTABLISHED IN BAYELSA STATE (AZIKORO, YENAGOA LGA)
The National Grassroots LPG Pe*******on Programme (NGLPP) continues to expand access to clean cooking energy across Bayelsa State with the establishment of an LPG Node in Azikoro Town, Yenagoa.
For residents of the community, the Node represents improved access to LPG and an opportunity to transition from traditional cooking fuels to cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Esther Robinson expressed appreciation to the Decade of Gas team for bringing the initiative to Yenagoa, noting that the intervention will support households in reducing reliance on firewood and other traditional cooking methods.
The establishment of the Azikoro Node forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen LPG adoption at the grassroots level and bring the benefits of clean cooking energy closer to communities across Nigeria.

GASTECH 2026: NIGERIA ADVANCES THE DECADE OF GAS AGENDA IN THAILAND
The Coordinating Director of the Decade of Gas Secretariat, Ed Ubong, alongside members of the Decade of Gas team, joined the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, and other global energy leaders at Gastech 2026 in Thailand, where discussions focused on energy security, gas development, infrastructure expansion and investment opportunities across the energy sector.
Speaking during the conference, the Minister highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to increasing gas production, expanding gas infrastructure and attracting investment under the Decade of Gas initiative. He noted that the initiative has identified up to 20 projects aimed at boosting gas production to meet growing domestic demand, support regional energy needs and strengthen domestic gas utilization while positioning Nigeria to meet regional and international gas demand.
The Decade of Gas team engaged stakeholders throughout the conference, showcasing Nigeria’s progress towards building a gas-powered economy and highlighting opportunities for collaboration across the gas value chain.
Gastech remains one of the world’s leading energy conferences, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, investors and technology providers to discuss the future of energy.

UPDATE ON BILLE COMMUNITY GAS SEEPAGE
Earlier this year, during the Decade of Gas Media Parley in Port Harcourt, one of the key concerns raised by journalists was the reported gas seepage in Bille Community, Rivers State, and the impact on residents.
The Decade of Gas Secretariat is pleased to share a recent development from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) as efforts to investigate the incident and support the affected community continue.
According to NUPRC, five truckloads of relief materials were delivered to the community in July, while a six-day medical outreach in September, conducted in collaboration with OPTS, IPPG and NNPC Ltd., reached 5,250 residents.
The Commission’s Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, has also reaffirmed NUPRC’s commitment to finding a lasting solution as investigations into the gas seepage continue.

Today, we are proud to say that commitment is already becoming reality.
The first LPG Node under the programme has been successfully established in Igbainwari Community, Okpokuma Clan, Bayelsa State, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the NGLPP.
For the women and families of Igbainwari, this Node means improved access to LPG, safer and cleaner cooking, and reduced dependence on traditional cooking fuels.
The excitement and appreciation from the community remind us why this work matters. This is more than infrastructure. It is about creating lasting impact for households, empowering communities, and expanding access to clean energy where it is needed most.
And this is only the beginning.
Community by community. LGA by LGA. Node by node.
The journey to deepen LPG pe*******on across Bayelsa State is underway, and Igbainwari Community will always be remembered as the first step in that journey.

Natural gas is often discussed in terms of reserves, pipelines and infrastructure. Yet its real significance lies in what it makes possible.
