NISO Management Receives Presidential Adviser on Power

The Management of the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), led by the Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed, today received the Special Adviser to the President on Power, Mr. Lanre Babalola, and his delegation at the NISO Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

The visit provided an opportunity for strategic discussions on the operations of the national grid, ongoing power sector reforms, and the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting NISO in the effective delivery of its mandate. Deliberations focused on strengthening grid reliability, operational efficiency, transparency, and overall system stability.

Mr. Babalola emphasized the importance of prudent resource management, enhanced operational discipline, and sustained efforts toward improving grid performance and reducing system disturbances across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). He reaffirmed NISO’s critical role in driving a more stable, resilient, and efficient power sector.

In his remarks, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed assured the delegation of NISO’s unwavering commitment to advancing grid reliability and operational excellence. He also pledged the organisation’s full support towards achieving the shared objectives of a more robust and sustainable electricity supply industry.

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) is actively participating in the ongoing International Civil Service Conference at Eagle Square, Abuja, themed “Team, Reform, Resilience and Results.”

The conference brings together Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), policymakers and stakeholders across the public sector to promote collaboration, innovation and reforms aimed at strengthening service delivery and national development.

The highlight of the day was the visit of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Power, Alh. Mahmuda Mamman, to the NISO exhibition stand.

NISO’s participation reflects its commitment to institutional collaboration, stakeholder engagement and supporting a more efficient and resilient public service system in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), on Monday, May 11, commenced a three-day staff acculturation programme for regional staff of the organisation at its corporate headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking at the opening session, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NISO, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed, enjoined staff to uphold the organisation’s core values of professionalism, discipline, teamwork, and service excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities, as NISO continues to consolidate its mandate within Nigeria’s electricity sector and support ongoing power sector reforms.

The programme, coordinated by the Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Services, Mr. Babajide Ibironke, is aimed at acquainting staff with the operational philosophy, corporate values, and work culture of the organisation in line with public service expectations and institutional best practices.
