Men’s Mental Health Matters
This June, as we observe Men’s Mental Health Month, Ominya Initiative joins the global conversation to remind men and boys that their mental health is valid and important.
Too often, society teaches men to stay silent, “be strong,” and carry burdens alone. But true strength also means speaking up, seeking support, and allowing yourself to heal.
At Ominya Initiative, we believe that peacebuilding begins within. A healthy mind builds healthier families, stronger communities, and a more peaceful society.
To every man going through a difficult season:
It is okay to rest.
It is okay to ask for help.
It is okay to feel.
You do not have to carry it all alone.
Let’s normalize conversations around mental health and break the stigma together.

Yesterday, Ominya Initiative was ably represented by Aminu Ahmed Mamagi at the official launch of the Sub-National Development Index (SNDI) Report organized by iLEAD AFRICA in Abuja.
The launch marks an important step in advancing data-driven governance, accountability, and improved development outcomes across Nigeria’s sub-national entities. The report provides critical insights into infrastructural gaps and access to basic amenities, while offering actionable recommendations for better planning and service delivery.
At Ominya Initiative, we recognize that sustainable peace and development are deeply connected to effective governance, inclusive policies, and equitable access to basic services. Engaging in conversations like this strengthens our commitment to promoting accountability, civic participation, and community-centered development.
We appreciate iLEAD AFRICA for convening this important dialogue and creating space for stakeholders to shape pathways toward stronger sub-national development in Nigeria.
