What is a Lintel ⁉️
A lintel is a horizontal structural element placed over an opening like a door, window, or fireplace.
Its main purpose is to carry the load from the structure above and safely transfer it to the walls or columns on either side of the opening.
Without a lintel, the wall above the opening could collapse because it would have no support.
Common Materials Used for Lintels:
• Reinforced Concrete (most common today)
• Steel (for stronger, longer spans)
• Wood (traditional or in small buildings)
• Brick or Stone (seen in older or decorative buildings)
Where You See Lintels:
• Over doors
• Over windows
• Over large wall openings (like garage doors)
Why Lintels Are Important:
• Support: They prevent the collapse of the wall above the opening.
• Load distribution: They spread the weight evenly to the surrounding structure.
• Safety: Help maintain the strength and stability of a building.
• Aesthetic: Sometimes lintels are designed decoratively to improve building appearance.
Simple Example:
Imagine cutting a hole in a brick wall for a door. Without a lintel above the door, the bricks above would fall down.
But if you put a strong lintel across the top, it holds everything safely in place. That's the purpose of lintel.

SOLAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CIRCUIT
The image shows how a solar energy system is connected to power a home. Here are the main components and their functions:
1. Solar Panels (SOLAR PLATE 1, 2, and 3): Capture the sun's energy and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity.
2. Charge Controller (CONTROLLER): Regulates the power coming from the solar panels to protect the battery from overcharging and overdischarging. It has a display that shows voltage, current, and other important data.
3. Battery (BATTERY): Stores electricity for use when there is no sun (for example, at night).
4. Inverter (INVERTER): Converts the direct current (DC) electricity stored in the battery into alternating current (AC), which is the form of electricity used by household appliances.
5. House (LOAD): Represents the household's electrical consumption. The converted solar energy is used here to power lights, fans, appliances, etc.
6. DC Load: Some DC-powered devices can be connected directly to the controller.

🛑This image presents two scenarios illustrating the proper and improper design of stairs, focusing on the dimensions of the landing and the overlap (going) of the steps.
Left Side (Incorrect Design - Marked with an "X"):
* Top Diagram (Side View): This diagram shows a person descending stairs. The overlap of the steps (the horizontal distance from the edge of one step to the edge of the step above) is indicated as "MORE THAN 15 CM". The vertical rise between the steps is not explicitly labeled but appears consistent. The landing at the bottom of the stairs has a depth indicated as "LESS THAN 30 CM". This suggests that the landing is too shallow.
* Middle Diagram (Top View): This shows the top-down view of the stairs and the landing. The landing area appears quite small, indicated by the red triangular area, suggesting insufficient space.

* Top Diagram (Side View): This diagram shows a person ascending stairs. The overlap of the steps is labeled as "30 CM OR MORE", and the riser height is "15 CM OR LESS". These dimensions indicate a more comfortable and safer staircase. The landing at the top of the stairs has "EXTRA SPACE IN LANDING", suggesting sufficient depth.
* Middle Diagram (Top View): This shows the top-down view of the stairs and a more spacious landing area, clearly labeled "EXTRA SPACE IN LANDING". The red triangular area indicating the landing space is significantly larger than in the incorrect example.
* Bottom Diagram (Section View): This cross-sectional view emphasizes the adequate depth and overall space provided by the landing in the correctly designed stairs.
Overall Understanding:
The image highlights the importance of proper stair design for safety and comfort. The incorrect design on the left shows a staircase with a shallow landing and potentially excessive step overlap, which could be unsafe or uncomfortable to use. The correct design on the right demonstrates a staircase with an adequate landing depth and appropriate step dimensions (rise and going), ensuring better usability and safety. The diagrams emphasize that a landing should be at least 30 cm deep and that the step overlap should ideally be 30 cm or more for comfortable and safe movement on stairs. The image uses visual cues like the red "X" and green checkmark to clearly distinguish between the incorrect and correct design principles.
