On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, we marched from the Federal Ministry of Finance to the Federal Capital Territory Administration Office for the Day of Action on Local Government Efficiency.

We are assured that when people come together, change becomes possible.

It is a step toward demanding open budgeting, accountable leadership, better communities, efficiency, and better governance at the grassroots. All of this we captured in the Charter of Demand on Local Government Efficiency to be presented to the political and administrative leaders in the FCT.

The movement continues!

Functional Primary Healthcare Centers have been a major concern across communities in the FCT. For some, it is either the building (brick and mortar) exists with no health workers, or neither the building nor the healthcare workers exist.

A typical example of this is the Ijah-Pada community in Kwali, where Bangaskiya hails from. Bangaskiya and other members of the community are faced daily with the situation of minor ailments escalating into life-threatening situations due to lack of a functional Primary Healthcare Center.

This among other reasons is why we are Marching on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, demanding that the Local Governments/Area Councils become more efficient in performing their functions as enshrined under the Fourth Schedule of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
