The Team was at the market yesterday shopping for essentials for our Start Smart September 2026 Initiative.

Uniforms, sportswear and PTA fees will be sorted directly at the schools - ensuring 50 children across 2 schools start the new term ready to learn and thrive.

Preparations are in top gear for our Start Smart September Program--we go again in September 2026.

This year’s Start Smart September, ₦70,000 can go a long way towards securing a vulnerable child’s future.

With ₦70,000, one child will receive:

• PTA fees for a whole year
• A brand-new backpack
• A new set of school uniforms
• A new set of sportswear
• A new pair of sandals
• A new pair of sports shoes
• 2 pairs of socks
• Exercise books
• Pencils
• Erasers
• Sharpeners
• Rulers
• A brand-new water bottle

For a child who may not afford to go to school, ₦70,000 can mean a world of difference.

Nigeria has taken a major step towards transforming education with the launch of the $552 million HOPE-EDU Programme, co-financed by the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education.

The programme seeks to improve learning outcomes, expand access to quality education, and strengthen the education system for millions of Nigerian children.

Last week we joined QEDA and colleagues from UBEB and UBEC as part of the Technical Working Group for the NRED project.

Using AI to strengthen foundational numeracy, MamaMaths is helping primary school children better understand mathematics while supporting teachers with faster homework marking and valuable insights into each child's learning needs.

It was inspiring to hear about the progress that this pilot project has made so far and to contribute ideas on improving numeracy outcomes for children in public schools. A fantastic initiative making a real difference—well done to the MamaMaths team!
