"I Never Knew I Would Return as ANEP Chairman"
Nwadioha
Announces One-Point Agenda for Second Term
The newly elected Chairman of the Association of Nenu Professionals (ANEP), Mr. Marc Chuks Nwadioha, has expressed surprise at his re-election, saying he never anticipated returning for a second term.
According to him, he had previously informed some colleagues, close associates, and family members that he would not seek re-election.
"Honestly, I never knew I would return as Chairman of ANEP. I may have told some of you here, and even some members of my family, that I would not be going for a second term," Nwadioha stated during his acceptance speech.
He explained that his growing commitment to writing and literary projects influenced his decision not to seek another tenure. He also emphasized that organizations often experience greater growth and sustainability when new leaders emerge with fresh ideas.
"A leader may run out of ideas, but when we give room for new leadership, fresh ideas are injected into the system," he said.
Nwadioha noted, however, that he could not resist the calls from concerned members who passed a vote of confidence in his leadership and urged him to complete a second tenure.
Reflecting on his first term, he highlighted several landmark projects undertaken by his administration, including the Light Up Nenu Project (2023), the Back-to-School Project (2024), and the Women Farmers Empowerment Project (2025).
The human development expert further stated that ANEP members benefited from both financial and moral support under his leadership whenever the need arose.
Speaking on his working relationship with the Vice Chairman, Mr. Bright Ahaiwe, Nwadioha described him as a dedicated leader with the interests of both the organization and the community at heart.
"The mutual understanding, cooperation, and coordination I enjoy with my Vice Chairman are second to none," he said.
Looking ahead, the newly elected leadership unveiled a one-point agenda for the new tenure: the construction and completion of the proposed ANEP Lodge and Youth Advancement Centre.
The project, estimated at ₦20 million, is expected to include accommodation facilities, ICT rooms, and a library to support youth development and community advancement. Nwadioha disclosed that efforts are currently underway to secure a suitable site for the project in Nenu.
He expressed gratitude to all ANEP members for their unwavering support and confidence in his administration, describing them as committed individuals dedicated to the progress of the association and the community.
"Together, we will build a better Nenu," he concluded.
