BAND REVEAL!

Introducing our first band announcement and also one of the two headlines for the festival, TOOLSOFTHETRADE-Grindcore! From Kuala Lumpur, this 3-piece vengeance grindcore beast had a remarkable journey extensively up to the UK and Europe in 2012, 2016, and 2018. In addition, the band has featured in several festivals throughout their course including Obscene Extreme Festival (CZ), Play Fast or Don't (CZ), Chimpy Fest (UK), as well as neighboring Southeast Asia provinces. The band has convinced grind maniacs with some releases including three full-lengths which is Inmate Consumption (2007), Defy (2012), and Proclamation (2014), together with some split releases such as 'Eastern Grind Unleashed' (2005), 'A Mass Discharge Of Accumulate Internal Rage' Split CD (2012), 'Tools Of The Trade / Compulsion To Kill' Split 7" (2013), 'Live In Praha' Split Cassette (2016), 'Endless Swarm / Tools Of The Trade' Digital Format Split (2017), 'The Bo****ks / Tools Of The Trade' Split Cassette (2017) & 'Yousuck/Wegrind' Split 7" (2017) and not to forget 'Inmate Consumption Promo' CD Demo (2006) & a limited 'Pulse' Cassette EP (2011), which most of the songs are strongly influenced by current political situation, socio-anarchy and oppression in daily life. TOOLS OF THE TRADE has played in Kuching before and is no longer a stranger to the grindcore scene worldwide, and now is the time for a revisit has come but this time will be in August at Noise Not Bombs Music Festival!

Rekam Jejak Skena Musik Underground Pontianak 1999–2017
(Pontianak Bawah Tanah Fanzine, January 2023)

66-page, A4, full-color pages - a journal detailing the history of the Pontianak underground scene from the late 90s; written in Bahasa Indonesia and features the historic bands, hangout places (tongkrongan), physical releases, zines and more. Lots of pictures too. Apparently this was put together by the aforementioned "Pontianak Bawah Tanah Fanzine" crew with Aldiman Sinaga. Really good documentation of the scene there in the capital city of West Kalimantan. bravo!!
