World Oceans Day is celebrated on 8 June to shed light on the importance of oceans. The theme for this year is 'The Ocean: Live and Livelihoods'. World Oceans Day is celebrated to highlight the negative impact of human activities.

Thaipusam, is a festival celebrated by the Tamil Hindu community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai, usually coinciding with Pushya star, known as Poosam in Tamil.
