With deep gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable contributions of Honey, Misty, Beso, Dulce, Prince, QT, Floppy, Clue, Chappy, Spunky, Belle, Chief, Apache, and Dudley and our entire 2026 Compadres Therapy horse herd, including Sera Star and Tempest.

The Compadres Therapy, Inc. therapy horses experienced the snowflakes that finally arrived in the El Paso Borderland Region! While the winter storm was brief, it was an important reminder that our therapy horses have special care needs during cold temperatures.

A heartfelt thank you to Spur-C Stables for providing shelters, access to fresh (unfrozen) water, and increased feed to keep our horses healthy, comfortable, and content during these colder days and nights. ❤️ ❄️

Cold weather care is especially important when it comes to managing water intake (horses may drink less when water is cold) and increasing forage consumption (with good quality hay) to help them generate body heat.

Compadres Therapy, Inc. is deeply grateful for the incredible volunteers in 2025 who have supported our participants during their equine assisted services sessions. Their time, care, and dedication have made a meaningful difference in every connection the participants have made with our therapy horses, and we are honored to recognize all our volunteers for their contributions. Earlier this year, we were especially proud to celebrate Jo Ann, who was honored with The Commission of the Yellow Rose of Texas - an honorary commission conferred by the Governor of Texas to recognize exceptional community service by Texas women.

Jo Ann (with the support of Jim and her family) has dedicated more than 35 years to serving individuals throughout the El Paso Borderland region, and her compassion, leadership, and commitment continue to inspire us all. Her calm presence, deep knowledge, and lifelong enthusiasm to horsemanship ensure our horses are healthy, content, and trusted partners in the healing process.

We are grateful for Jo Ann’s continued dedication and heart for service and the lasting impact she has made in our community - especially with health and welfare of our special therapy horse herd. ❤️ 🦄
