We are excited to announce that For Rights is now partnering with the Global Youth-Led Movement on Ending Violence Against Children to strengthen efforts aimed at ending violence against children in Malawi. This collaboration marks an important step in advancing our shared vision of a society where children, young women, and vulnerable communities are protected, empowered, and able to access justice.
Through this partnership, we will work together to promote legal awareness, youth leadership, child protection, and community-based advocacy to ensure that the voices of young people are heard and their rights safeguarded.
At For Rights, we believe that meaningful change happens when organizations come together with a common purpose. We are proud to stand alongside partners who are equally committed to building safer and more just communities.
Together, we are working toward a Malawi where every child grows up free from violence and every young person can thrive.

Today, International Women’s Day, For Rights reflects on the theme “Give to Gain.” When we give time, knowledge, opportunities, and support to women and girls, we gain stronger leaders, safer communities, and a more equal society.
By empowering girls, women, refugees, female prisoners, and marginalized communities, we believe that every act of giving creates lasting change. Together, let us continue to give our voices, compassion, and action so that women everywhere can gain the confidence, rights, and opportunities they deserve.

Studies show that girls who stay in school are most likely not to marry before the age of 18. Across the world, millions of girls lose their childhood every year to early and forced marriage. About 12 million girls are married before the age of 18 each year, a violation of human rights that limits girls’ potential and opportunities.
But research shows that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to end child marriage. Girls who complete secondary school are much less likely to be married as children, and expanding access to education could reduce child marriage by about two-thirds globally.
At For Rights, we believe that protecting girls’ education is one of the strongest pathways to ending child marriage and building stronger communities.
Education is protection. Childhood is a right.‼️‼️
Let’s work together to ensure every girl stays in school and every child is free from early marriage

100 Students Empowered!
Today, we had the privilege of engaging with 100 learners at Bwaila Secondary School through For Rights, where we conducted a Legal Awareness and Public Education (LEPA) session focused on human rights, leadership, decision-making, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The session created a safe and interactive space for students to understand their rights and responsibilities, reflect on their everyday choices, and explore how young people can serve as advocates for sustainable development within their communities, the nation, and globally.
It was inspiring to witness learners actively engaging with discussions on ethical leadership, informed decision-making, and community responsibility, and recognizing their role as future leaders and change-makers.
Empowering young people with rights-based knowledge, leadership skills, and an understanding of the SDGs is key to nurturing a generation that is confident, responsible, and committed to building inclusive, sustainable, and resilient communities.
Below are highlights of the program.
