Kerala has issued a high alert after a suspected Nipah virus case tested positive in preliminary screening, triggering immediate emergency protocols across hospitals. Authorities have intensified contact tracing, isolation measures and PPE deployment, while samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for confirmation. Health officials say all precautionary steps are in place to prevent any possible spread of the highly fatal zoonotic infection.
