🇪🇺 EVTA General Assembly – Brussels 12th November, 2025

Today, I am participating in the General Assembly of the European Vocational Training Association (EVTA) in Brussels 🇧🇪🇪🇺.

As the first Maltese organisation to join EVTA, Edu Alliance is proud to contribute to the European dialogue on Vocational Education and Training (VET), sharing perspectives from Malta and beyond, while engaging in discussions that shape policy and practice across Europe.

It is always inspiring to exchange ideas with colleagues who share the same vision for a stronger, more connected European skills ecosystem.

We are delighted to have been part of this incredible journey that led to the accreditation of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Malta 🇲🇹

At Edu Alliance, we believe that learning doesn’t only happen in classrooms. It happens through experience, challenge, teamwork, and growth.

That’s why we are so proud to have contributed to this milestone, recognising the value of informal and non-formal learning for young people in Malta and Gozo.

Congratulations to everyone behind this initiative for empowering youth to discover their purpose and potential. 🌟

A huge shoutout to our Friends of the Award — your support means the world to us!

You’ve been instrumental in helping us run and grow the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Malta and the growth we’ve seen over the past few years is all thanks to your belief, encouragement, and commitment.

Your support gives us the energy to keep pushing forward — reaching more young people, creating more opportunities, and inspiring them to discover their purpose and potential.

Together, we’re helping young people in Malta and Gozo find their own path, push their boundaries, and make a difference.

Thank you for being part of this journey!

Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity of joining a panel organised by the MCCAA - Malta Competition & Consumer Affairs Authority to mark World Standards Day, where we discussed Governance and Ethical Leadership in the context of international quality standards.

My reflections centred on 3 main points that I would like to share, namely

(1) From Rules to Responsibility

Quality should not be about “what do we need to prepare for the audit?”, but “how do we improve the learning experience?”

(2) From Control to Engagement

A quality culture cannot be imposed; it must be cultivated through dialogue, participation, and shared ownership.

(3) From Evidence for Auditors to Evidence for Learning

Data should inform progress, not just satisfy requirements.

Let’s continue fostering systems where quality is central to our strategic intent by design, and so quality as a culture of care, accountability, and improvement.

Driving Trust Through Quality
Governance & Ethical Leadership

Honoured to be joining fellow leaders and professionals for an upcoming panel discussion being organised by MCCAA this Wednesday at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, focusing on a theme that sits at the heart of my work at Edu Alliance: "Driving Trust Through Quality."

I look forward to sharing thoughts and international & national experience at how we can shift from compliance to culture, and how trust is built when quality is owned by everyone.

What an amazing week! 🌍

Our Digitalisation & CLIL in Education training programme has just come to a successful close here in Malta 🇲🇹.

We had the pleasure of working with 15 wonderful teachers from Istituto Tecnico Economico Tecnologico (Bramante-Genga) 🇮🇹.

Five days full of energy, innovation, and collaboration.

Together, we explored how to make learning more digital, inclusive, and inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you to all participants, your enthusiasm made this journey truly special!

✨ Here’s to many more learning experiences that connect educators across borders.

At Edu Alliance, our mission is clear: supporting institutions, industry and educators to achieve lasting quality and impact.

In recent weeks, our work has taken us across Uzbekistan and Paris with international quality assurance procedures to ensure programme accreditation standards are achieved as part of ACQUIN team.

We also marked a new milestone as Edu Alliance became the first Maltese affiliate member of EVTA 🇪🇺, strengthening our voice in European VET.

Alongside this, we continue to deliver our consulting and project services, from mock audits and programme accreditation support to internationalisation strategies, curriculum development, and training projects.

Looking ahead to October, we are also excited to launch a new service within the field of education and training in the days ahead. Stay tuned and follow our pages to learn more.

A heartfelt thank you to the core team for their hard work, discipline, and endurance. These are our real values that allow us to keep pushing forward.

How can international programme accreditation go beyond compliance to truly strengthen quality in higher education?

Over the past weeks, I joined colleagues from ACQUIN to support four programme accreditation procedures across universities in Uzbekistan 🇺🇿.

What stood out most for me were the lessons that apply everywhere:

✅ Quality must be at the heart of every institution’s strategy.
✅ Students should have a strong voice in governance.
✅ Staff need continuous professional development to keep education future-ready.
✅ Every country’s cultural and social context must be respected.

For Edu Alliance, this is about more than procedures — it is about building bridges between Malta and Central Asia, and paving the way for stronger, more international higher education systems.

Rahmat Uzbekistan 🙏

📘 Yesterday, Edu Alliance joined the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority training on new Higher Education Programme Accreditation Standards and Procedures.

The workshop, led by international experts Ms. Aurelija Valeikienė and Dr. Anca Prisacariu, PhD provided valuable insights into the evolving quality standards shaping higher education in Malta.

Key takeaways included:

✅ A deeper look at the new accreditation procedures.
✅ Practical guidance on preparing self-assessment reports.
✅ Best practices for accreditation visits.

These updates will be central to how providers design programmes, maintain quality, and ensure compliance going forward.

At Edu Alliance, we’re committed to helping education providers turn regulatory standards into opportunities for growth and excellence.
