Northbound is heading to Croatia!

And we’re very excited for the privilege of serving at Camp Focus, an evangelical church camp site about 150 km from Split. The camp is located in the mountains of Croatia on 22 hectares of beautiful fields and forests. The grounds themselves are still under construction, however. The camp currently consists of a newly completed main residence, capable of housing at least 20 people, 6 bungalows for 48 residents, a cafeteria, kitchen, ablution facilities and showers. There are stables on the grounds as well, where some farm animals are cared for.

The construction of a chapel has begun recently on campus, designed to seat 100 people. On completion, the chapel will be put to good use in hosting groups attending the camp throughout the year to hear the Good News of Christ.

Northbound is pleased to announce our involvement in this project during the coming weeks! Our team has been issued the challenge of raising approximately 1000 Euros (R14,000) for a new wood-stove heater to be installed in the chapel in preparation for the winter season.
Croatian winters can be brutal, with snow cover of up to 60cm and temperatures ranging between -15 to 20°C. A good heater is therefore essential for providing warmth in the chapel building during winter months. And we believe that this chapel will be a place that the warmth of God's presence will be felt tangibly by all who visit Camp Focus.

So, we invite you to render your support for this project in prayer, first and foremost. And secondly, to give as the Lord guides you.

Northbound got to spend a wonderful week with the most beautiful group of people in Greece! It was an absolute privilege to serve (and even more so, to be served by) such humble, loving children of God! It's only been a few days since we left Leptokarya, but we miss our AZ Bible Centre family already! You are always in our prayers!

Especially in this next season of hosting several hundred children throughout the summer, we pray that many children will meet Jesus face to face as their Saviour. And that more labourers will be called to join in the harvest. There is a time for everything, as our brother Panos reminded us, and now is the season of grace. "For he [God] says, 'in a favourable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the favourable time; behold now is the day of salvation!" -2 Corinthians 6:2
