Next week I’m heading to France and in a moment of confidence, decided to start knitting this pair of mittens. I thought it would be easy enough to do without constantly checking the pattern… yeah, turns out I was a bit too optimistic 🤪

I already feel sorry for the person sitting next to me on the plane, because my tiny seat area will probably end up looking a lot like my creative chaos at home 🧶✈️

No bright eggs, no big celebrations, just delicate snowdrops quietly blooming 🤍

Not sure if this time it was luck or a happy little mistake… I accidentally started knitting mittens using two different shades of grey and only realized it after finishing the cuffs.

The choice wasn’t easy - to unravel one cuff or make two pairs? I decided to go with two pairs, with the upper part of each having a slightly different design, just to keep it more interesting for me… 🌹 🌹😊

In December, when I was sitting with Maria from and we were talking about Latvian mittens, she asked me whether Latvians actually wear mittens themselves because while she was in Riga she hadn’t noticed many. That question inspired me, when meeting strangers on the street to photograph their mittens so I could show you that Latvians not only love knitting them, but also love wearing them 😊
